Curious of your opinion, are the GTPE Summers good ones?
I have 0 personal experience with them, so yeah. However, I’ve run various P-Zeros and they always perform near the top of their respective class. Also, the P-Zero Elect spec rubber Ford uses was developed by Pirelli with Ford chassis engineer input/validation from what I’ve read/seen.

Based on that and the lateral G and braking distances I’ve seen in online reviews I’d say they’re a pretty good tire.

I'm probably delaying getting my GT PE out of garage storage until late April to May due to the summer tire temp specs here in Iowa. Maybe that's too cautious???

Very lively thread! I have lived in Alaska the 35 years and have used all seasons exclusively until last year. I haul my grandkids around quite a bit and I felt my AWD Expedition might have improved driving in the winter with dedicated snow tires. It was a drastic improvement and will never go back to all seasons for winter driving. When my GT arrives I will enjoy it as-is for the summer but next fall it will get dedicated snow tires. Of course we have ice/snow for 6 months. That being said I do think choice is a good thing but I see it as more of allow base GT purchasers to opt for some of the PE options rather that a PE purchaser to be given an option that downgrades the vehicle. Another issue would be what all season Ford would elect to offer - should the purchaser be able to select from many options? I could see another consumer state that Ford should also give them that option. Just thought I would share my 2 cents . . . . And I do wear 3/4 length (capris) shorts for most of the year!

Idk, what are daytime F averages? Modern summer tires still come with warnings about sub-40F temps because that does approach the compound glass- transition temperature, however, you’re def fine into the mid-upper 30s. I drive my 475/475 hp/tq rwd SS Sedan on Conti ExtremeContact Sport summers exclusively in TX and they are totally fine down to 30F.

Just remember, AWD makes it better but once a tire is hard and slick even that won’t do any good.

And here’s my obligatory humblebrag Dragy run on summer tires in 39F temps on a regular road:
Ford Mustang Mach-E No all season tire option with GT performance edition AB93ACC5-0FEB-4DAB-B28D-8C2BD6155859

That also resulted in a 4.4 0-60 which with 1-ft roll out was 4.15. On. Summer. Tires. People. ?

I just leave mine sit in the garage when it's below 40 or snow on the ground here in PA, though I have driven it in some cold sub 40 degree mornings with warm afternoons. Fortunately I have a Volvo for winter, and honestly, if I had to trade it in to get the GTPE, I probably wouldn't have bought the GTPE in the first place to be my only car. I don't consider this trim to be "winter friendly" between low front fascia and high torque, even if it came with all-seasons. AWD doesn't automatically mean winter worthy in cars, even with all-season tires. But I have seen plenty of posts where people were to successfully install all-seasons tires and/or other wheels, with a trade-off in performance. Or just swap them out for the cold months.
I do agree that they should offer the magna-ride in other trims... I assume that is in the works for the next build cycle.
Is it safe to store them in the garage though? Even in Atlanta the Temps in my garage hit the 30s on many nights. The warranty terms someone posted above say it shouldn't be stored in cold temps either because they can crack etc.

I use the 45 degree rule and live in Michigan, the Red Pony GTPE has been out and about quite a bit lately ???

I've driven my GTPE on track in 38 degree temps and they were fine. As long as there's no black ice or slush you'll be ok.

I always thought "All season tires" was a bit misleading. Our neighbors to the south even require special winter tires for the colder months. It's not that uncommon to actually have two sets of tires, even when one claims to be "all season"

"The Pirelli P-Zero tire that is on the GTPE has this in it's description:
Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in summer performance tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Pirelli's warranty does not cover tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° F (7° C). The P-Zero, like all summer tires, are not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

This in the Pirelli P-Zero warranty section:
The special tread compounds formulated for Ultra High Performance (UHP) summer tires are optimized for maximum dry and wet performance in warm temperatures. The compounds in these tires will have decreased performance, such as lateral and braking traction, at temperatures below 45° F (7°C) or when driving on snow or ice. In addition, they can lose flexibility and may develop random surface cracks at very cold temperatures; therefore extra care should be used in handling tires. All Season or winter tires should be installed for use at temperatures below 45° F (7°C), UHP summer tires are not recommended for lower temperature conditions."

Don't the snow tires pay for themselves? You are basically doubling the life of your summer tires to use them when they actually work... sure, your cheap ass has to buy a new set of rims... but I wouldn't want my nice rims in the winter salt anyways... what are we really complaining about here?

"what are we really complaining about here?" Ford giving it's customers a basic option that they give with all their other vehicles. "Cheap ass" isn't the issue here, convenience is, besides I would be buying a new car way before salt did any damage to a rim.

“I want what I want and refuse to pay extra for it!”

Ford is an American company. They should be used to these type of demands.

Reality- dealership will install whatever tires or wheels you want at delivery. Just write a check.

Reality- I have to buy another set of tires when I should only have to buy one set (all-season) that fits the need of the consumer, because that consumer lives in multiple seasons.
