I suspect Ford sees the real "extra" is in earlier delivery vs most of the Premiums (at least it better be after all this). There's definitely some value in that, and frankly if it wasn't for that, I'd cancel my FE and jump right back to the Premium in a heartbeat.Perhaps Ford will throw in some extras for the FE's. Might not be in design, but maybe in perks. One can hope. I was hoping they would change the front motor to something between the Premium and GT.
Soaking the early adopters that are willing to spend more just to be first in line actually makes some sense for them. Frankly, I'm very surprised they're lowering prices now. It appears they had plenty of demand at the old prices. But by jacking up the FE option by $2000, they sort of are taking partial advantage of the hottest-to-buy segment of the market (although it appears there's only a few thousand FEs).
