double? How? I bought him an ICE vehicle (stupid fusion gets terrible mileage augh)
Buy yourself an Ev off the lot eligible for tax credit and then trade it in when the Mach e shows up. You get the tax credit for both purchases if you have a large enough tax bill.

California ....do you think it makes a difference? Who is getting them faster/slower?
💯 Yes and then some. ZEV states are faster for sure. I’m sure CA is at the top of that list too.

I didn't realize that! I would've bought a PHEV a while back....but local dealers are charging more than the tax credit in mark ups! It ticks me off enough to pay full sticker.

 I'm not sure "faster" is the right word here; More than non-ZEV states would seem fitting, for sure, but lots more orders come from locations with incentives. It seems possible that the "dealer" variable has more influence on "speed" of delivery, but Ford's allocation algorithm remains a mystery and includes much apparent "arbitrariness".
My personal experience within California: Autonation Ford has multiple dealers in S Cal. By chance, I chose one of them that had low sales compared to their "high sales" dealerships. I learned this when I called to ask about the 51 MME listed online for that dealership. I was told that not one was available through them, that they were "sales pending" or "coming soon" to the other dealers. I'm waiting 4 months for my MME order, looking at another 4-5 months waiting, while seeing other California orders made after mine, getting their's filled.
I'll be watching your posts to see how things are going with the MME you acquired and what you decide when the MME you ordered is delivered. May the Ford be with you.

I chose to order through the #1 volume dealer in So Cal in hopes that backdoor dealer deals worked to my advantage LOL

My friend ordered a select not long after me from a dealer close to home and has heard absolutely nothing. In theory she should've had her car BEFORE mine because of the wait time difference in models but....

Curious me... how did you determine #1 volume dealer before ordering?

Friend in auto business told me which dealer was #1 for volume - in all honesty I've had the best of luck buying from them before so was likely to go back but almost bought from the local dealer for convenience

I hope this works in your favor. I live near one of the largest volume Ford dealers in the country and they are the largest F150 dealer in the country. I thought about ordering from them, but couldn’t get a straight answer on X plan and was told by numerous people in the organization that they had a ton of customer ordered MMEs and weren’t getting anything fast. It could have been people who didn’t really know or didn’t want to deal with my order. Who knows.

The problem is there’s so many variables it’s hard to know. Is it better to order from a smaller dealer, but be at the top of their list or is it better to order from a large dealer, but way down the list?

I’m jealous of all the people who get scheduled super quick, but since I bought a cancelled order my frustrations have subsided.

This is a better way to put it.
Keep us updated with what you decide to do when your order comes in as well. One of my coworkers has a Hyundai and he really likes it. I hope you’re enjoying yours!

IF I knew who I needed to sleep with to make this process faster I'd have done it already LOL

It might just all be a crap shoot and a lottery system in place....I just know it's a disaster. I want my dang car

LOL. Seriously. If you find this person let me know. At least you have a production date. Something new to look forward to I guess!

There’s so many supply chain issues and delays right now it’s crazy. I’m thankful I got a cancelled order but I still want a production date!
