The dealership that I used to go to had one Hybrid / EV guy. When he was out, no work was done. I switched dealers for other reasons, but having one tech in the field isn't good.

The fact that everyone up to the Service Manager says they cannot update individual modules either indicates stupidity, or they're saying "we can't update modules that Ford doesn't pay us to update". If the former, that's sad.

I have found an inability to get a "receipt" indicating what was performed. They've said more than once that the warranty work gets entered only on certain days by part-time workers, and they'll send it afterwards. Last visit (windshield/roof) it took weeks of nagging before they sent it to me, and it included their claims to Ford for reimbursement.

On 21G01, I think it's easy. Right down the mileage when you drop it off. When you pick it up, it should have MILES more on it, because the last step is to drive on a BlueCruise highway AND prove that handsfree driving works. You can check with FordPass to see if it has any more mileage on it. They allot 0.5 hours. At 55, that's at least 11 miles, figuring 20 minutes on the highway and 10 minutes to/from.

If they took it for a drive, and they confirm it worked, and it doesn't work, then quite simply they lied to you, and it's time to go sit with the GM/Owner and say WTF?
I completely agree. I did finally get them to complete the individual updates that they “couldn’t do”, though I think it was mainly to shut me up and get me out of their waiting room. Either way it disproved their argument that they can’t do individual updates.

As far as the BC updates I’m waiting for someone to have a good experience with it at a MA dealership and then I’ll take my update business there. We’ll see which happens first, that or the OTA updates get released to the non-ea cars.

You might want to go back and read the details in this thread. Just because the dealer installed the updates doesn't mean you will instantly get BC. There's a step on Ford's end to activate it, too.

I don't think we've gotten to the bottom of that yet. A lot of us have had BlueCruise automatically start working after the updates. But some others have all the updates and still no BlueCruise. Now that Ford is officially endorsing the updates at a dealer, and the last step of the instructions is supposed to be for the dealer to test BlueCruise, you would think that Ford shouldn't have to intervene to activated it.

Correct. No one should leave the dealership without confirmation that a test drive was done with handsfree driving on a BlueCruise road, as that is the last step in the process.

If there is any delay in it being activated, that's on the dealer to wait for it and prove it works.

I posted this in another thread, should have put it here.

Dealer tried the BC update today. I dropped it off at 7A, they called at noon and said it was ready. but when I picked it up, no BC. The shop managers response when I went back in to speak with them was "it didn't take"... they are trying again tomorrow.
Update - The dealer called after day 2. They aren't done and need it a third day. I'll update later today. (I left the step by step instructions this time)

Score is OTA 0 Dealer 0

That is a good point. Testing is part of the procedure.

If it's any consolation, my car still doesn't show any updates in FDRS, according to my and my dealer's login

Right. That was probably an OTA step, not a dealer install step since dealer service folks are supposed to test the car and confirm it is working before returning it.

Your car doesn't have any updates available in FDRS? I find that hard to believe unless they've already been done.

I found it hard to believe as well until I broke down and purchased another FDRS subscription and my car shows that it is completely up to date, but I don't have the newest SYNC version.

My sister worked for a Ford dealership as a mechanic when she was younger. Here are the takeaways she told me about being a car mechanic at dealership:

1) It's cutthroat. If you don't have the proper tools you won't get jobs to work on. No one else will loan you tools. Ever notice that the Snap Tool truck always seems to be nearby?

2) Even though the book says it takes X hours to complete a job you'd better complete it in less than X hours. Significantly less.

3) Once a mechanic is good and knows the ropes they leave. Either they start their own shop or work for an independent mechanic making more money and not having to deal with the cutthroat politics.

Not all dealerships are this way but the structure is set up to make this the easy way to run a dealership.

Do all cars with BC have the same Sync version? if so what is is it? Mine is at 244 (and BC not working yet)

You're right. FDRS shows no available updates for your car, but looking through your module list, they're definitely not all on the latest version. I've run hundreds of VINs in FDRS, and I've never seen this before. I wonder if Ford has your VIN somehow listed incorrectly in their database.
