Just another Carvana tip I got from an employee there be real careful about buying any cars they keep in their giant tower vending machine. Especially the one in Phoenix which puts the cars in a position during a decent dust storm the paint gets pitted and scratches appear that would not happen if the car was on the ground like it should be.

If you’re 19 years old and you need to see your car come out of a vending machine because they give you a giant golden coin and you get all triggered by crap like that you might be able to accept the fact that it’s in worse shape because they jammed it in there

I would have thought the ones in the tower would be even better protected given that it's indoors. Isn't it sealed? (the one here in Dallas is)

The panels open and there’s a lot of dust and dirt directed in like a cyclone throughout the entire structure on windy days. Valet Boys there says it creates its own tornado. It’s not a sealed or closed structure although it does have panels The employees noticed far more paint problems with cars kept in the vending machine than those kept on the ground as they should be. They also have to kind of jerk them around to get them in place close turns close distances some of them get dinged up a lot

With the financial straits the company is in now although they might’ve been a nice advertising tool I don’t expect to see anymore vending machines being erected anymore

Jes sayin. They are still selling Mavericks and machEs for 12 grand over list price. And most of them are used with 10,000 miles. They only do that because there’s actual nitwit pinheads out there buying them

FWIW, I've bought two cars from them here in DFW:
* a 2015 Volt back in 2017 and my young daughter was unhappy that we drove all of the way to them and their "vending machine" was not working (they just had the car in the parking lot when we got there)
* a 2018 Stinger GT2 in 2020 and I just had them bring it to my house (they also bought back the Volt from me in the same transaction)

Both purchase experiences were great and I felt like I got a good deal on the cars (and a fair trade-in value on the Volt), but the market was VERY different then.

I agree completely they were fantastic three or four years ago I bought six cars from them all together. All from my phone without a single phone call and they just showed up and dropped it off and picked up the trade-in I hope they survive and go back to the way they used to do business selling at a decent price the cars are extremely well prepped and high-quality

I love my Mach-E. If I sell it, I'd have to go get in line for a new one and wait months. Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent.
