The mache is launch is 4 days behind right now. If things get behind dealer demo might be put on hold to get FE out first when MP2 starts.
Did get the chance to see some more of the JD Power review. They also were not a fan of the frunk divider. Jd power has to finish checking one more model before release.

The first 8,000 Batteries were supplied from South Korea. Just pushed the issue to find it out. So they will be put into dealer demo models FE and the first couple of thousand Premium.;)

Have a review coming out for you all later today or first thing tomorrow. From an important person.
Awesome news, thanks!

Sounds like First Edition production will either be starting on 30 October or stay on 26 October, pushing back some FCTP production?

Is OKTB still November 23?

Canada announces Can$590 mn investment in Ford electric car plant

therepurpose.jpg
The repurposed Ford assembly plant in Oakville, Ontario will produce five new electric vehicles such as this all-electric Mustang Mach-E unveiled in California in November 2019
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government and the province of Ontario announced Thursday investments of Can$295 million (US$223 million) each in a Ford factory billed as the largest electric vehicle plant in North America.

At a joint news conference with Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Trudeau called the investments totaling Can$590 million "one of the first steps to build a next-generation auto industry."
It will also help Canada—if Canadians buy the electric vehicles produced at the plant—move toward its goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, he said.
The Oakville, Ontario assembly plant is to be repurposed as part of a deal announced last month between the Ford Motor Company and the Canadian union Unifor, to build five new electric vehicle models and the batteries that will power them.
The project is valued at Can$1.8 billion and will secure up to 5,400 Ford jobs in Canada, including over 3,000 at the Oakville plant.
"Today's announcement represents the largest investment in Ontario's auto sector in over 15 years," said Doug Ford, adding that the plant "will be the largest electric car manufacturing facility anywhere in North America."
"This is a historic moment," he said.
According to Statistics Canada, there were 1.9 million new vehicles registered in Canada last year and while electric vehicle sales jumped nearly 40 percent, they represent a very small portion of the total cars and trucks on Canadian roads.

Ford is going all-in on the EV market.
Fascinating and gigantic news.

"......to build five new electric vehicle models and the batteries that will power them."

Canadian Mach E? Really?
such as this all-electric Mustang Mach-E

Does not specifically say the mach-e but such as which is worded for speculation. I too was surprise to read the possibility of the mach-e and 5 vehicles not one.

Well great to see comments were taken seriously and all are back on topic. Does that Mexico friend know how popular he is around here?

Canadian Mach E? Really?
I think the wording in that article is misleading - it wouldn't make sense to shift the Mach-E from Mexico up to Canada 3 years from now. I think what they meant by "such as the mach-e" is electric vehicles "similar to the mach-e".

The North American Car, Utility, and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) semifinalists have been announced for the 2021 model year awards. The list consists of eight passenger cars, 14 SUVs, and four trucks that are either newly offered or substantially redesigned for 2021. They run the gamut in size, style, and price points, with a full assortment of gasoline, hybrid, and electric-powered models included.
The winners will be determined by the votes of 50 automotive experts from the U.S. and Canada who contribute to print, online, and broadcast media. To ensure that every one of them gets behind the wheel of all nominated vehicles, NACTOY will conduct a mass test drive (we’ll assume with the proper social distancing and precautions) October 5-8 with all semifinalists included. Finalists will be named in December, and the winners in January.
The models chosen for the 2020 car, utility, and truck awards were the Chevrolet Corvette, Kia Telluride, and Jeep Gladiator, respectively.
Here are the 2021 NACTOY semifinalists:

Mr. Mexico is VERY popular here. Screw the wall....this guy is loved by all of us. I am confused as I thought the batteries were all coming from a plant in Europe???

Also on the Canadian article does this mean that Ford is indeed going into the battery building business???

Remember that this was an image from the Mach E release. They changed their minds.
I'd call it more just a nice little extra add-on they're throwing in. Fortunately it's confirmed removable, so it's not a change per se. Like throwing in a cargo net.

The cooler still works, or anything else as originally shown.

Oakville is an automotive assembly plant similar to Mexico's. I think the batteries will come in and the packs assembled similar to Mexico but really have no idea. It could be from someone else and not LG by that time.

They come from LG Chem. It was originally stated they'd come from the LG Chem plant in Poland, but the early ones are coming from an LG Chem plant in S Korea. Some company, same batteries. Really doesn't matter.

For the Mach e, it's been my understating they are only getting cells from Europe, but building the batteries out of the hundreds of cells (288 or 376 depending on SR or ER) (putting them in a battery pack/frame, all the wiring, etc). That said, I've heard both stories, so it might be nice to get confirmation from someone at the plant... not that it makes much difference if they come preassembled or not.

It make sense for Ford to produce the cell too at some point, but their is a higher risk of investing in the wrong technology as it's rapidly changing.

thanks for the explanation. makes sense.... So now the question is how soon do they leave the plant??? I assume the 8,000 means that they have arrived in Mexico???
