Source please; was that released by Ford? I have seen it before but could not confirm; it is old (early) right?
it was from the engineering report. It looks very accurate to the picture to see on the ford build site

I'm very disappointed that I went zero for 3 on my questions this week.

How long can it hold the 150kW charge speed?
Hwy efficiency.
Dc to DC charger stats.
I finally got around to watching the actual video. My take is that nothing changed. I think they just misspoke a little off the top of their heads referring to "20-80%" (really meaning 10-80), and tapering "after 80%" (as the question was read).

They pretty much confirmed that all batteries (except the really expensive ones, which he clearly meant theirs is not) slow down on charging as they gradually fill up. You could tell they didn't want to throw cold water on the charging time of the MME by giving exact taper info, but made it clear it's the same basic characteristics as others in it's price class. Which likely means a profile similar to:

Ford Mustang Mach-E Mach E web series Part 4 - Performance and Charging charging-time

Yes 61% SoC.
OK, so that's fantastic! You did mention the car had been plugged in "a while"; is it possible that it was only charging for 5 to 10 minutes and the battery was still cool enough to take that current, and in a normal "charging from 10%" scenario it would be much hotter and the draw would be 40kw @61%?

Not sure if you folks missed it or not, but @ajmartineau posted a shot of a charger screen showing the draw at 81kw at 61%. I assume the 61% is the SOC, but I don't know. If that's the case, the taper of the MME is much flatter than that chart would suggest.

The post in question:
https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/mme-charging-curve-data-collection.1617/post-42366
That's pretty good. The average (ER) for the 10-80% range based on 61.6 kWh in 45 minutes = 61.6 / 0.75 hour = 82 kW average. The 61% mark is 73% of the way through that 10-80 block. For it to still be at 81 there means either (a) it stays at 150 for just a few minutes then plummets down to ~81 the rest of the way (which is unlikely), or (b) they've been able to improve that 45 minute time.

Let's say they've gotten the 10-80 time down to 40 minutes. That would be 61.6 / 0.67 hours = 92 kW average. That would be a more reasonable fit for it to be at 81 kw 73% of the way through the block.

Fingers crossed.

Will the mach-e record charging history? That would be good to have available when buying a used one.

Didnt they say 38 minutes not 45?

Also note that nearly every time they talk about charging they say “on a 150kW charger.” So, Ford, what can it do on a faster than 150kW charger? I have been very impatiently waiting for months for them to reveal the real rate.

Definately gets recorded. Doubt Ford will make it available to the public though....

38 minutes was always the 10-80 quote for the standard range battery. 45 for extended range battery.
is it possible though that the 38 is for the extended now and maybe closer to 30 for std?

Possibly. I can see history on my app now but it is limited to recent events. I can't see lifetime details I don't think...
