My dealer has been great about communicating with me. He called last week about the price drop and just telephoned again this morning to tell me my FE order is confirmed in the system (and gave a 4 digit order number). He said there were two FE orders for me, one Grabber Blue and one Carbonized Gray. I want Carbonized Gray. He is going to cancel Grabber Blue and is now canceling my Premium order as well. He also stated that the order books are expected to close Thursday or Friday, and he may have a VIN for me by the end of the week. He also shared that the demo unit ordered for his dealership is just like the Premium I originally ordered, and it was expected to arrive late-November/early December. His plan is to let those of us who ordered Mach Es take it for a few days. I also learned delivery from Cuautitlán to his lot is about 2 weeks.

I called my dealer also. I figured this is one of the easiest sales they will ever make, I might as well make him work a little. He said he didn’t see anything on his end, but the existence of the confirmation email was a good sign. Then he said something very interesting. He said he still sees my original premium order too, which was “a problem”. I laughed and said yeah, I guess I have two cars on order, to which he replied with relative concern-“No Ford doesn’t want cars at the dealer. Each car is a special order.” Which is odd, but understandable. However, what if I go to pick up my car and hate it-God forbid-but what then? Isn’t it a car in dealer inventory?
My dealer called me today and wanted a copy of my email confirming my FE order. He said there’s some confusion on Ford’s side and he wants to make sure I get the right car. As far as I’m concerned if he’s being proactive I’m in a good place. He also said they are planning to have a Mach E event at the dealership at the end of October. It sounds like a few other dealers in our area will be having them too. I wish Ford did a better job of reaching out to us publicizing these events. He said he thinks they will have a car for “Test Drives” which I assume will be ride alongs as they shouldn’t have a demo by that point but who knows?

I contacted my dealer for my MachDrop FE and he said as of this morning he is not yet seeing it in the system. But he also said based on the information he received from Ford, all his other orders for other trims so far are scheduled to be built between late November to late December - so he is thinking my Premium order with reservation number in the 80000s will be made close to end of the year - now that is a head scratcher - if he is really right it will give me lot to think about . I was thinking my Premium would be later half of 2021 . Will have to wait and see.

I emailed my dealer for an update a few hours ago, after seeing a few more people report order confirmations here in the last few days. Waiting for him to check and get back to me.

Sounds like they're trickling in gradually this week.

Appears so - I would assume the regular FE orders should be /would be populated first and receiving their dates first before Mach Drop units. So far we have not see a lot of the first ordered FE order details so yeah slowly they seem to be trickling in.

Just got a reply from my dealer, and he confirmed my Mach Drop FE is in WBDO now. Yay! ?

Actually he found TWO of them in there for me. Before I called the Mach Drop line to "officially" request an FE from them in July/Aug, I had inquired to my dealer about it and he submitted me for the Mach drop Waitlist. It appears the waitlist awarded me one too. Gonna have to cancel one of the two.

I had also gotten an email this afternoon that my original Premium order was canceled. That made me a bit nervous, until my dealer replied why -- I could only have 2 orders open at the same time. Surprised me when he said I had 2 FEs in there.

Going into the dealer Monday to double-check everything is correct so they can finalize it for build.

Oh, and neither of the Mach Drop FEs are showing up in my Ford.com ORDERS AND RESERVATIONS page. Been checking that too just in case it might have also showed up there. Nothing though (other than my now-cancelled Premium).

My dealer called me today and confirmed, he said it was now scheduled for production in three weeks, which would be Oct. 30. He also told me I was the first one at the dealership to go into the production line. Delivery would take about a week, however he said he did not know currently if it would ship the next day or 4 weeks after production. Premium RWD, extended battery, infinite blue.

That sounds about right. Now we just need the OKTB or they'll be all dressed up with nowhere to go.

Must be nice to have communication with a dealer. Just wait for the review after I get this car. The General Manager is going to be pissed (well, maybe he won’t care).

Just spoke to my dealer - my FE is in their order bank too! No VIN or production date yet, but this feels like big progress.

So are we expecting FE VIN numbers early Nov then? Maybe all this extra first run caution will translate into a well built early run, rather than a run with early issues as is more commonly thought in the industry?

It's probably been answered a million times, but who exactly gives the OKTB again?
It's something Ford determines, although I'm not sure if there might not be some government approvals involved along the way too. Sounds like a checklist of sorts. Presumably involves a number of final checks.

Trutolife27 said they actually pick some random models off the lot and take some parts off to check and make sure it's all installed right and working properly. As well as other general inspection.
