I'm not so sure the 7000s started the same time as the others. I ordered as soon as they allowed reservations and was #1004162, my reservation time stamp on the email is 647pm PST. But then again I'm not sold on the fact that 4000s, 5000s, and 6000s all occurred at the same time either, that doesn't seem logical.
I have doubt if number series have anything to do with trim and color you chose along with location where you ordered. We all will know soon.

I reserved as soon as the page would load - refreshing the website during the event. I got a 6038 number, and my e-mail timestamp is 09:37PM EST, so 06:37 PST.

Similar. Just a bit later and I have 4000 series (which I now switched to a FE)

Had a short peek in the Ford system at the dealer, fabrication date dec 7, delivery feb 27, even saw a chassis number???????
Apple can get a watch from China to Pennsylvania in less than 48 hours and it takes ford 8 weeks to get a car from Mexico to Canada? I know a car is bigger than a watch and the Canadian border is closed, but still ?
Yes, I know 8 weeks is typical ship time. It just feels like forever!

Actually, it's very logical and there are long discussions on the Forum documenting the simultaneous numbers issued in separate 1,000 number groups.

The logic: Would you want Ford's entire reservation system to have been crippled if something went wrong with one server or a system that coordinated a perfect set of incremental numbers? Many hard-hit servers at launches have failed frustrating customers. Whoever set up Ford's was smart enough to learn from past problems with popular releases such as concert tickets.

By having reservation numbers issued by multiple servers simultaneously, the system they used had total redundancy. Rather that trying to coordinate a single list of perfect serial numbers across multiple servers, why not issue numbers independently? Ford never said the numbers were sequential. In fact, Ford has stated many times that the reservation order is determined by the timestamp of the order not the reservation number.

I have the same question. I made my reservation on 12/26/19 with a reservation # of 29,341. This was converted to an order on 06/29/20 with an order # that matches the reservation # of 29,341

Confused!
Nothing confusing at all. Most folks who converted their reservations have the same reservation and order number. However, if you look on your order form from the dealer, it has lots of other numbers, too. If you ask your dealer for your order number, they may give you the Ford number (which would match your reservation) or they may give you the one from the dealership's numbering system (which would not).

LOL yes we have and the sheer quantity of posts about it ensures that anyone new to the site here won't read them at all because of "TL;DR"...

(Something of which has been pointed out to me a few times already LOL)

First off - I’m a long-time reader of this forum, and a first-time contributor. I can’t thank all of you enough for providing so much great information about the MME (especially @trutolife27 and @ChasingCoral - you guys rock)

I have a First Edition on order, and similar to @methorian I hit refresh on my browser during the launch event last year and placed an order at 9:37 pm EST, which was before they even said “go to Ford.com to make your reservation” during the webcast. My reservation number is 40XX, so very low number.

I wanted to pass along a few pieces of information I received from my dealer when they called me with an update this morning. They expect to get their FCTP unit at the dealership some time in late November, which seems to match up with everything that has been discussed on the forum. The part that seemed a little off is they shared with me that the build date on my vehicle is December 7th, which would put arrival in late Dec or early Jan. I’m betting that date has some “dealer buffer” to prevent them from over-committing and under-delivering against my expectations, but thought it would be relevant to share here nonetheless.

I’m starting to believe that the long wait might finally be coming to an end!!!

Yes, I'm not confident they have your build date right -- I certainly hope not!

I'm dismayed anytime I see an FE build date reported after the week of Nov 9. That's the 3rd week from the supposed customer build start of Oct 26. We're told they hope to have all FEs build over 3 weeks.

Something's not adding up.
