I want to give an update, reached out to the gen manager at the dealership and he acknowledged that the onsite manager should have given me the price that I signed for. They will mail me a check once Ford sends it to them. Hope they do

Price protection question - I placed an order in March, which is not yet scheduled for production. If I work with the dealer to make changes (same trim, but removing a couple upgraded options like AWD and Interior Protection Package)...will Price Protection apply based on the original order date or the date the order was changed? Reason I'm asking is that there were some additional Ford Options incentives and interest rates that I believe are price protected from the date of my original order. I wouldn't want to lose out on that if I make a change to the order.

My dealership giving me issues with price protection.

Oct 2021: ordered MME premium ER. dealer gave me assurance that this is the price I will pay.
Dec 2021: Ford increased prices but let dealers know that old ordered are price protected.
Jun 2022: Expecting my car any day now. Dealer suddenly changed stance. Now that are telling me they will charge me updated MSRP which is additional $2k.

They are behaving very rudely and acting as if they don't want to sell me car. I talked to sales manager and was told this is the price take it or leave it. Does anyone know if I can do anything else in this scenario?

I tried calling ford they told me to file a dealer complaint but they won't commit how long will it take.

Oy. Just was informed by my dealer that there are "no price protections incentives available" on my car. But the MSRP only increased by $1600 and they will still honor my X Plan! FWIW: I ordered 10/24/21.

I asked him to check with the VORC. We'll see what they say.

Also, my CA RTE 1 AWD that was supposed to be available for me to pick up on Wednesday is still in Kansas City. It doesnt show up on any of the trackers-seems like more order number doesnt register properly. Man I really dont need any more stress in my life.

Complicating matters, I just got my buyback offer on my chevy Bolt! So now I face the prospect of having to surrender that car before this one arrives.

Thanks for the therapy, LOL!

You better read this: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...or-all-trims-effective-december-8-2021.12050/

You ordered before that increase so you're price protected. Your MSRP should not go up, dealer is probably lying.

And it's the VOPC, not VORC.

I got a call from my dealer today.

They claim the car will be ready for pickup by Friday (with the OTA fix) and when I asked him about price protection he claimed that there is price protection on incentives and base price but not on the options added in the car. (which means -1k for the extended range battery)

I know that's total BS as the price protection should be on total MSRP but how am I going to be able to prove him wrong? Do I just ask them to watch the ford video - youtube guy or maybe a screenshot of what they should be clicking?

He asked me to send him anything I have to support my claim so looking for advice here before I send anything wrong.

Thanks

You get the protection on the base price plus the extended battery if you have it. I got $2000 price protection for my ER Premium when I bought it.

Ask the dealer to look up the EFC09620 memo on their FMCDealer website and read the attachment carefully. The -$1000 for the extended range pack is clearly listed.

Reply from dealer:

Our set dealership policy is contracting at the MSRP or in your case the Ford x-plan pricing set on the Mach E invoice that Ford has sent us on the vehicle and we will reimburse the customer what ever the dollar amount Ford sends us for price protection after they record the sale which will be approximately 45 days after the purchase. We have a large amount of the Mach E that have to have the software update done and your vehicle should be ready by Friday to pick up
Pretty sure ford will not send a check for paid taxes on top of new MSRP, so another $200 lost?

I did do the calculations on the excel and it's more or less an extra $250 total. Do you think it's a fair policy from the dealer?

For those that didn't keep track of initial order price (10/2021) and all the changes. How do we know if the price is the original or increased ones?

Ive got the exact issue. They claim to have run the report from the purchase date using Smart Vincent and said that my window sticker is correct ($56,985 for a CA RTE 1 Red with dual motor) Even though Im pretty sure that reflects the price increase.

They did tell me that I had a price protected Options rebate (of $2750) they would apply) but I have no good way to verufy what they are claiming. Ihave to say this dealer has been pretty above board thus far so Im inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I dont fully trust them :)

First, off thanks to everyone contributing to this thread. You helped a ton!

One heads up for those going through the process. They made an error when they ran the report. They initially found no price protection on the window sticker MSRP for me. BUT we did see it for the incentives.

(Im still puzzled that I dont see it for the MSRP and am going to follow up with Ford's new vehicle support team who can supposedly conform the MSRP at my time of order. (The dealer has agreed to pass along any difference if there was an error and should have been price protected on the MSRP).

The problem to look out for: I discovered when they printed the form (usig Smart Vincent) for me to confirm that rather than using the order date (or price protection date) they used the purchase date. So, they re-ran it and the protection on my financing kicked in. The Options Plan went from a $2k rebate at 3.9 (which is the current offer) to $2k at 2.9%, so a bit of savings there.

Anyone know if the Ford.com price summary is showing the price-protected amount or the current market amount?
