EVs are a hassle to charge when traveling and in general, if you don't charge at home. I recently purchased three more (new) cars - Ioniq 5, GT500, Escape Plug-in Hybrid - all after my Mach-E. The I5 is nice because it's free charging for 2 years but it's a hassle to stop and charge if you want to charge for free or are on a trip more than 100 miles (200 RT is possible in this one on the freeway). I chose the Plug-in because it's a nice mix of almost 40 miles all electric range with the flexibility of only running on gas or using the engine to charge the battery - different than regenerative braking. The GT500 is just a fun car but even acceleration in that can't be compared to an EV. So, the answer is, it depends on what works for you. There is a middle ground but you may not need that based on your lifestyle. Paying taxes on a new car will rarely pay itself off when comparing electric charging rates to gas prices.

You will Love, Love, Love the Bronco. Great ride, no bouncy Jeep at all. The full open roof compared to the Jeeps head smashing roll bar in the middle and Badlands Sasquatch goes virtually anywhere!

Having said that, the Bronco is gone, and the MachE First Edition is getting upgraded to a GTPE that hit the dealer today but because of the recall, will sit until the fix is in.
Wife loves her MachE and almost zero maintenance, oil changes, Injectors, etc! Literally the most convenient vehicle we've owned. We do have a 21 PowerBoost F150 Platinum that is awesome, but the MachE is used daily!

I love the MME but if Ford goes electric or Hybrid with the Bronco I think that is my next car the Bronco is very cool looking. I want to stay electric though.

I temporarily went back to ICE - traded in my '21 GT (non PE) on a sweet 2016 Mustang GT Premium convertible. I'd had a similar convertible before and really missed it. Since the dealer gave me $2500 more than I paid for the MME, plus I already took advantage of the $7500 tax credit, I figure I got paid $10,000 to drive the MME for 6+ months.

I say "temporarily went back" as I placed an order for a '22 GT (non PE) before the order banks closed in anticipation of this move. I ordered from the same dealer that honored MSRP and X-Plan so I'll end up paying just a little more than for the '21 but with the tax credit, it will probably be worth more again when I take delivery.

If my wife had a Jeep already, I’d keep the MME and never look back. The best 2-car garage today is a sporty electric daily driver and a utilitarian ICE vehicle like a Jeep or Bronco. All your bases are covered! (Bonus points if the Jeep is a manual). Getting the Bronco now would be like having 2 Jeeps.
Former Jeep owner, LOVE Jeeps but I'm warning you, don't ever drive a Bronco. It's amazing how much better it is, be warned! :)

Now we will keep our Audi Q5 for trips, although it has over 100000 miles. We took a 500 mile trip this last week in our mache and realized that’s about as far we want to travel for now in the GTPE.
we love both cars, and might just get a Toyota Prime for a second car. Great mileage and local driving would be free. perfect .
we also have a small eco online ford rv, 17 mpg for long trips.
but have No Plans to sell our e-car!

I drove one for a week (Turo rental) and loved it. But still, if I had a Jeep and a MME in the garage it would be hard for me to justify swapping out the MME for the Bronco. But to each his own, party on!

You definitely shouldn't take it yet (at least not in a non-Tesla EV). However, on the Plugshare app you can see multiple "coming soon" fast charging stations dotting the highways in the UP. It appears that the main issue holding up installation are grid connection and demand fees the local electric utilities want to charge. They should hire someone from EA who could help them navigate that.

With the recent financial woes faced by Tesla, I'll bet that they open up their superchargers to non-Teslas sooner than later. That makes the UP an easy and stress-free route.
Something I realized this past weekend is that campgrounds have the Level 2 hookups that we need. Yeah it may take a few hours more than a Fast charger but it will definitely get you the juice you need in rural areas.

"A few hours more" could be 9 - 11 more... Campground outlet/L2 charger is good for overnight on a trip, or an emergency only.

Not a chance, honestly a transformative experience and it just feels bad driving any gas vehicles now. Not to mention never having to do the chore of getting gas at current prices lol. Electric is just better in almost every way, even the extra weight just makes them handle better since it's under the floor.

Every time I get in our EcoBoost Flex and crank her up, we’ll… feels like an old school hot rod. Man does she ever jiggle and rumble. Awesome power. I laugh every time.

I haven't tested that option yet; I'm curious as to whether the users of those hookups (RVs mostly?) would get upset that an EV is using it as a charging station. Anyone experience this situation yet?
