I just got back from the Mach-E Road Show in Vermont. Here are some observations in no particular order:

  • - They had an Infinite Blue and a Rapid Red. Both were Premium, AWD, Extended Range manufactured in July.
  • - Both colors looked great. I have an Infinite Blue on order, so I spent most of the time with that one
  • - Fit and finish were fantastic. The Active-X material is indistinquishable from leather. It is soft on the steering wheel though, so wil likely scratch.
  • - Standing next to the Mach-E, it doesn't seem tall enough to be considered an SUV
  • - The driver's seat was very comfortable. The seats are squishy, which I like. Some may find they don't offer enough support if you're expecting side bolstering
  • - The seat moved up and down about 2". It was very easy to get in and out of. Similar seat height to my Outlander PHEV.
  • - There is adjustable lumbar support, but it only adjusts in and out, not up and down.
  • - The back seat outboard postions were very comfortable. The middle seat is cramped (but I'm a big guy)
  • - Rear visability seemed similar to any other crossover I've driven. Not fantastic, but not bad.
  • - All the map lights and lights in the trunk and frunk are LEDs. No incandescents to be found
  • - The Ford guys said that the frunk organizer is pre-production only, and won't be in the final version. I don't buy that based on what we've heard elsewhere.
  • - The charging door swings wide open with decent force when you push on it if you don't have your hand there to stop it. I hope that's just a pre-production thing.
  • - The little hinged cover for the DCFC pins sticks closed with magnets. Nice touch.
  • - The Ford oval at the top of the windshield was there on both vehicles. The Ford guys seemed to think it would be there in production.
  • - The trunk opens much faster than any other vehicle I've owned.
  • - I knew the rear turn signal lights were animated, but didn't realize the fronts are too. Looks very cool.
  • - My iPhone 11 Pro and an iPhone 7 Plus each fit fine on the charging mat
  • - The windshield wiper blades don't attach with a typical J-hook style. They're like the Subaru ones that just slide on and have a button
  • - Everywhere that the car appears on the big screen, it's color matched to the actual car

I'm sure I'll think of a lot more. Let me know if anyone has any questions. Here's a silent walk-around video and a few pics.

Oh man this is awesome. With that rubber on the charger coming out, that means we can put a low profile magnet under there for MagSafe alignment.

Great summary and video. Thanks. I'm looking forward to getting some video and photos tomorrow at 1 pm PDT when my local Ford dealer is hosting a preview day.

I'm interested in your note that it seems too small to be classed as an SUV. That was also my impression from everything I've seen. I'll try to get some shots with people in frame for scale.

The Infinite Blue looks awesome in the real world it seems - and NOTHING like the configurator images. Not saying I regret the FE, but I could have saved a lot of money on an ER RWD in Infinite Blue... ah well

All the more reason I want it :D
- The little hinged cover for the DCFC pins sticks closed with magnets. Nice touch.
This is such a nice little touch that the Euro brands don't seem to get. The little "gas caps" that they use are so cumbersome, I'm glad Ford isn't doing that.
- Everywhere that the car appears on the big screen, it's color matched to the actual car
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so afraid they'd screw that up, or that it would always just be a generic white car like my Mustang was.

Here are some shots of the windshield wiper blade attachments. The first is fully attached. You push that little square button and it slides off for replacement, like in the second pic. This system is easier than typical J-hooks, but it can be harder to find aftermarket replacement blades.

Man I’m so jazzed about this, the interior noises when accessory was turned on were so cool too. The rear opens so quick.

Did you happen to get a close-up of the side of the trunk? Interested in what power ports/lights are there.

Also, how did the rear seats fold down, a handle at the top? Could they be reached from the rear?

Kind of hope it isn't the case. Or it is a sticker we can remove.

I swear if I find out who thought that was a good idea, it’s off-center for god sake’s

I’m not even against having the ford oval, but white and off center!!? Getting it blacked out.

The ford logo is on the windshield of every mustang including the 2 door ICE coupe. I'm glad they put the ford logo on there. If you dont care for it you dont need to worry because It's hardly noticeable.

One's kinda blurry, but here are some pics of the trunk. The back seats fold down with a handle on top. I didn't see any way to reach it from the rear.

Yeah. We took the mat off in Phoenix and I just don't remember it looking like that at all. I don't know the build date of the car either.
