Good point. I didn't think of that. I figured it was because the perimeter frame was so massive due to the battery weight.

Well....now that I think about it, the HV cables are probably in the center of the vehicle for safety reasons. I doubt they would be outboard since that makes them susceptible to crash damage. Now the cooling lines is a different story though.....
If I had to take a guess, it would be that. Kind of like an I beam. The cross-section gives us strength to support the otherwise buckling weight of the bottom. It’s a lot easier to support an engine and then to support a giant flat wide thing

I'm guessing that most of the cabling, wiring, cooling lines, etc. come down through those side channels, considering that the battery takes up most of the space between the floor and the bottom of the car. That would be a possible reason for that door sill being larger than "normal".
And no tunnel to snake them down, either. There was a story recently about the team of women who were the engineers behind the innovative cabling.

I just went back to look at the build the group of women did at the plant. Unfortunately, the front side wells are covered so you can't see the cabling.

Did it feel like you had to step further away when exiting? It felt like that to me. I got used to it pretty easy but at first it was strange. That sill is very high for the two front passengers.

I think the foot wells are so deep to simulate an SUV sitting position. Sitting in the front seat while parked is a little misleading though. Once you start driving it then everything feels right. Probably the most comfortable and correct driving position I have ever experienced in a Ford.

There is so much adjustability between the tilt/tele steering and seating position that almost everyone in the 5'-4" thru 6'-4" range should be able to adjust to their preference. I played with the adjustments after a little time behind the wheel and quickly found a good place. I look forward to more time with my own car to get it right where I like it.
Yes exactly, had to step out a bit further to exit. Sure i'll get used to it, or start pivoting both feet out the car first while seated and then exit.

I agree about the seating position. I was able to find a good one pretty quick (didn't drive it though) and I'm usually finicky about that. When taking cars out for a test drive I'm sure I annoy the sales associate with me with how long I take to first adjust the seat/wheel/mirrors. With the Mustang MME it just felt right, right away.

One note about seat height adjustability - was interesting that it was only "one-way" adjustable up and down. Usually that toggle/lever controls two parts of the seat height individually. The front of the seat under your knees, and the back by your tailbone. I like how they did it here with the MME much better.

Hi everyone,
I'm a Dutch future owner of a Mach E.
Last saterday I went to a roadshow at my dealer in Zeist.

There where two types available. A nice grey RWD with full option pack and a red AWD allso full options. With the AWD it was possible to take a ride along with a Ford test driver.
What a nice experience that was.

I made some pics. Maybe you guys, experts as you are, will see some differences between the Us and the EU models. I was told the cars that where showed are handmade prototypes.
(I have a larger video which I can't upload... any suggestions)

For the larger video, try sharing it from OneDrive or Google Drive, or consider uploading it to YouTube.

Eventually I'll get to test drive, too. I can't wait!

Really? That seems a limitation to me. I like extra support under my knees. Is that on all models incl Premium that way?

I'm not so sure about that from looking at the photo. That first lever on the seat looks just like the one on my Escape and on the Escape it controls up and down but also tilt of the front and back portion of the lower part of the seat. I would find it quite odd if Ford made that different on the Mach E. When you pull it straight up or down it controls the up-down, and when you push/pull the front or back of it you control the tilt up or down of the front-back of the cushion.

Someone going to a road tour this week confirm that please. Not sure if all are like that, or just the one I sat in.
I didn't get out and check carefully, but while I was sitting in the seat the whole thing moved up/down. I did try to push/pull the front or back to control the tilt but no luck.

I hear you, I would agree, but somehow it just seemed to work for me personally after sitting in it. Almost seemed to change the tilt a bit as well, like it was incorporated as one fluid motion.

I went to a roadshow yesterday and the seat height control also appeared to me to have one up/down control, unlike most cars where you can separately control the front and rear portions of the seat’s height. But it seemed like the back adjusted faster than the front such that your seat’s angle was changing any time you pressed the button so in this sense the seat angle was adjustable between front and rear height.

It sounds odd, but I also really liked the way it was adjusting. I feel like I’m never very good at figuring out how to adjust the seat to my liking and felt like the built in proportions were better than I could manage on my own. On the flip side, if you were hoping to just raise the entire seat flat or sink it in flat, this didn’t seem possible unless I was mistaking some built in moving forward/backward as tilting in the height adjustment. I did not get much time with this.

Some other thoughts were that Rapid Red looked great in person. In some pictures and under the glare of autoshow lights, it looked a little too orange for me. At nighttime in a covered parking lot, it was very solidly red, not too light and not too dark.

We’ve previously talked about the differences in space in the trunk between either the AWD and RWD or SR and ER (Ford’s issued contrary documentation on this). The Ford rep knew nothing about this, but the trunk’s floor height was definitely adjustable in an ER AWD (some discussion in other threads that maybe in the ER or AWD variants the floor locked into the higher setting).

One thing that struck me as negative was the opening of the trunk. The trunk itself was about the size I expected, but it seemed like the opening was narrower than usual for a trunk of its size. Perhaps with the floor raised it would be about flush with the bottom of the opening, but on the right and left, the trunk was noticeably wider than the opening. This could make it harder to transport large objects such as a table or big screen because even if it could fit in the trunk you might have trouble just getting through the opening. I guess all trunks must be like this to an extent, but it stuck out to me on the MME.

I suppose though the operative part of this vehicle’s name is MUSTANG Mach E. While it’s better than any sedan’s trunk, I’d say most SUV’s will have better trunk space. I guess that’s not surprising, once Ford’s BEV lineup is fleshed out, the MME won’t be selling on utility, something like an Escape BEV would be the small SUV family vehicle of choice for transporting big items and doing Costco runs.

I wonder how close the "lie down" length will be to the sum of the back + seats:
83 cm + 54 cm = 137 cm plus the head rest height?

When you folded the rear seats down, you didn't need to remove or adjust the rear head rests at all, even with the front seats moved back. I didn't measure, but there was still some inches between the folded rear seats and the front seat back. You can adjust the cargo floor for a flat load floor or it can go lower by a few inches to make a larger cargo area.
