I've had good luck as the "original owner" when something recalled failed eventually and I was outside the Warranty period, getting some manufacturers assistance with the repair.
I'm not entitled to it, it's not owed me but with both Toyota and Ford they both reviewed the request and provided "Some good Will" assistance.
If it was recalled, you were entitled to the repair. Recalls don't depend on the warranty status.

Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
• 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E
• Built on or before 28-May-2022
• At least one of the following:
- DTCs P0563, P0ADA, P0ADE, P0AA1, P0AA4, P0AA5, P0AA2, P0D10, P0D0F, and/or P0C78 in the BECM
- A low/discharged 12V battery with a P0DA8 and/or P1A10 in the SOBDMC
I’ve read that those with the recall software the vehicle is still driveable after getting the service vehicle warning. Is the LVB still charging during this condition? One of the criteria is a low/discharged 12V battery. Does this mean the HVBJB has to completely fail to qualify for this TSB?

The TSB is a service technician note on how to deal with at least one of the symptoms in that list.

This is different than the Recall notice which, once remedied through software updates, will notify the driver of a possible hvbjb issue before it becomes a complete failure.

The 12V will continue to charge unless the HV contactors are welded open or closed.

Thanks. I realized that after I posted. Reading Comp 101 🤓.

If the vehicle is driveable then the HVB is not disabled and everything, including the LVB will operate normally.

One of the likely reasons for this TSB was because dealerships would receive a vehicle with HVBJB failure and (sometimes) see hundreds of DTCs related to a low battery condition, with a singular HVBJB failure in the middle. These dealerships, aren't like some of us who have been looking at these issues on the forum for months, so they start at the top and work down instead of going right to the BECM module to look for HVBJB failure. They would then call the customer and tell the customer that they had a dead LVB or a 12v issue. That customer (forum member) would say "I have a dead LVB or 12v issue". This lead to speculation here on the forum and it led to long diagnosis times with dealers because they kept looking at the wrong thing.

We are working with one person in DMs right now going through this exact thing with a dealer. Hopefully, this TSB will put all that to rest and get dealers moving on the correct track when they get a HVBJB failure with a discharged LVB.

Well said. I think in some cases dealers would replace the 12V battery instead of the HVBJB, clear the codes and give the car back without fixing the root cause. They fixated on the 12V issues rather than seeing the cause was the BECM shutting down everything because of the HVBJB fault. Mach-E's spit out a ton of DTCs when s*** happens, and it takes a careful eye and some experience to focus on the "big codes" and ignore the rest. BECM codes should always be looked at first since that controls the HV system.

Anyone else notice that this has a different build date than the recall/stop sale? Mine was "produced" on May 27 which was after the stop sale but still fits within this TSB.
I am just guessing here but it seems to me that the software was probably cut in the day after the stop sale and this TSB is evidence of the hardware cut-in on the new HVBJBs. 🤷‍♂️😱🐩

So to be clear, this in no way means vehicles built prior to the cut-off date are being recalled to have a new HVBJB replacement, only a directive to dealerships on how to replace a HVBJB should it become FUBAR and show up at their dealership, correct?

Yes. It is just a bulletin to tell dealer service personnel the proper procedures. 😊🐩

This should hopefully put to rest all the people blaming the LVB for failure when it's coupled with HVBJB failure..... It's a symptom, not a cause....
finally

I guess it's time to allow the OTA update, and see if my car throws any code.... seems like the Dealerships are ready to deal with HVBJB replacements, procedure is well documented, and parts are available.

It's interesting that the non-GT part numbers are differentiated by whether it's a standard or extended range battery, and not whether it's RWD or AWD.
the SR and EX battery packs have different internal layout of series/parallel connections probably making the voltage/current considerations and connectors different enough to warrant a different layout inside the HVBJB space.

My MME got SSN last week. Does anyone know the average turnaround time or time it takes to get the part?

The part can be overnighted, the install can be done the day it is received and your car released by end of business or the next day. Getting the service appointment is the fun part!

So what’s up with the OTA deployment? Figured it would start going out to non-EA by now.
