The sound that Charger is making = NOPE. But that car itself, well done Dodge, looks like what I would imagine an EV muscle car would evolve to look like.

To answer the original question, I like the current "fake" sound that it makes for the interior because quite frankly with it off, the silence puts me to sleep.

As for any exterior sounds, I prefer a sound like a straight cut gearbox or a whine from an Eaton or Whipple SC (I'll also settle for some unique sci-fi ish sound as well).

Personally, I would like to have the Monty Python coconut clopping sound for the outside sound. Or maybe a Tron Lightcycle sound.

Seriously? You thought it was going to be track capable? For how long? The thing weighs almost 5k lbs right? For reference, the new GT500 gets about 2.5 miles per gallon on track. You'd need incredible amounts of charging to be able to keep a Mach-E going for any extended length of time.
Ditto. This vehicle was marketed as a track capable mustang. There was TONS of press stuff that went out about it. There are already quite a few ICE track capable SUVs on the market so it's easy to see how this one could be too.

Maybe it's because I have a background open tracking, but there's no universe I'm aware of that a 5000 lb vehicle is going to be good at the track for very long. Add to that virtually no tracks have Level 3 charging available, and you end up greatly disappointed. Even if the 5 second issue wasn't an issue, it'd still be a long day at the track getting passed by ICE Mustangs, then sitting and watching.

Has anyone actually put it in extend and gone open tracking? How did it turn out?

Congrats on having experience on a track but this vehicle was marketed as being very track capable. Maybe they shouldn't market the GT & GTPE track monsters if they're not going to be. The Model Y performance and the Kia EV6 GT perform quite a bit better. All many of us with GTs and GTPEs are asking is for Ford to match that level of consistent performance in the quarter mile. This car should be running 11.9 seconds in the quarter mile and trapping better than 101-104 mph. Also maybe not give us a 5 second acceleration handicap or cut the power down to the levels of a base model Subaru WRX.

Dave Parasek, Give us the car that you promised in this video

**Model Y and EV6 GT accelerate quite a bit better.

Mach E GTPE outhandles and our brakes them both.

But yes, Ford needs to deliver on all 3 fronts to live up to that video.

I must be missing something. I just watched the video AGAIN and don't see anything my GTPE can't do. Have you actually taken your car to the track yet?

I'm sorry that to read that you're having trouble comprehending the deceptive marketing aspect of that video. Jim Farley? Dave Parasek? Is that you? 🤔

I've taken my MME GT on JUST ONE multi-state road rally with friends containing plenty of high speed driving, twisty roads and high speed passing attempts. The MME falls flat on its face after 5 seconds or less at highway speeds. It also fall flat on its face if you give the accelerator the beans through more one consecutive corner. It definitely can't keep up with my friends ICE vehicles. Also, my HVBJB welded shut open shortly after that multi-state journey. The car just couldn't hand the stress. I was without the car for 6 weeks while it sat at the dealer due to the under-engineered part. Ford was quick to show us that video and give us the impression that the car had stamina but the car couldn't even handle a 1500 mile road rally before shitting the bed. I'm not confident that these clowns even put the car through its paces outside of a simulator. Why the heck would I take it to the track right now? Oh, wait. I can't! Do you know why? Because my goddamn HVBJB welded open again after 5000 miles of mostly driving it like a grandpa with poor eyesight. I even got the the software recall update thinking that might help my situation and at least give me a warning before things started to break again. NOPE. No warning. I DC fast charged 3x on one trip for the first time after driving 5000 senior citizen style miles due to the fear of my HVBJB going out again. HVBJB failed again. I'm currently without my car and waiting for my new HVBJB to be replaced.

This is not acceptable by any ones standards. Also, my bad for thinking that all 480 hp and 600 ft-lbs of torque would be accessible for more than just a few seconds. I initially thought I was going to get 480 hp consistently... not under 300hp. At this rate, maybe I'll get a chance to track it later this year or next year in unbridled extend and maybe be able to keep pace with a base model Subaru WRX.

Yeah, he’s definitely missing something.

The video makes the car look like it was designed to drive fast around a track!

Reality, it gets severely throttled if you drive like that. You won’t make it past turn 2 at full power, let alone lap 2.

And Unbridled Extend? Talk about burying the lead. This is how it was described:

https://www.torquenews.com/9539/ord...xtend-feature-track-performance-and-sound/amp

“In addition to three drive experiences that is offered on the Mustang Mach-E, Mustang Mach-E GT and Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition introduce Unbridled Extend, a track- and closed-course-only take on Unbridled mode that balances power output for lap time consistency. The system provides more performance-oriented traction and stability control tuned specifically for track use – including an increase in interior sound.”

I honestly thought this would make you be FASTER for LONGER!

I mean it’s called “Unbridled Extend!”

Little did I know it just makes you slower and pulls power all the time.

Unbridled extend gives you the same acceleration of a regular premium 4X…………. Like so lame. WTF is the point of a Gt if they make you as slow as the regular one at a track??

You guys that want to track the car and cruise 85+ mph definitely have a valid complaint.

The problem is most buyers are not doing either of those, and most are not enthusiasts on a MME forum. I am 100% behind your complaint, but I doubt Ford cares much about it. Certainly some engineers care, and some employees who are Ford car enthusiasts care, but those who pay the bills don't.

So my advice is to enjoy it the way it is, or get a car that does a 10 second 1/4 mile. Either way, I hope you stay with us and continue to contribute to the forum. You track and drag people are much cooler than me.

The car doesn't move faster when reved? How does that work?

you asking about my eMiata?

it's because I have a manual transmission with a clutch, and can actually put it in neutral, and rev the motor independantly from the drivetrain. Totally different motor/controller/transmission than the Mach-e

only hope to be competitive would be in a new BEV class, where they ALL would be heavy and have thermal limits.
