With reservations made and ordering coming up, what questions should we be asking dealerships to not only prepare but also insure we are getting the fairest deal?

I consider myself fairly savvy at buying/leasing cars but have never dealt with purchasing direct (like the Tesla model or other preorders). Typically I know as much or more than the dealers do about the car I want before I go in — specifically average percentage off MSRP, holdback, regional incentives, etc) — but none of that applies here.

I know we should avoid anywhere with ADM and should make sure they apply X Plan pricing for MCA. Additional deposits at the time of ordering? Titling for leases? Any sort of incentives (highly doubtful)?

Add your questions for ordering, pricing, financing, and delivery and I’ll try to get them into one spot in a shareable document.

They're going to sell for MSRP. I doubt there will be any discounts the first year or so.
I'd just like to know when they expect all the various trims to be orderable and when they will be expected to arrive at dealerships.

Ford has already announced that they are AXZ plan eligible. So there will be some discounts available (if you're related to an employee, or are a vendor, etc.).

If you join the Mustang Club of America you're eligible for the X-plan.

X-plan is not vendor, it is partner. If you work for a corporation or large company, that's usually the discount you get. My company is not a Ford Vendor, but yet we get x-plan pricing.

What discount does x-plan get you? Worth joining mustang club?

Great lead - believe X plan pricing is 2% below MSRP + $275. Associate membership in MCA for 1 year is $25 so it's not a huge savings but certainly seems to be worth it. Would be around $1,000 off.

Yeah, they haven't released actual X-plan numbers yet, but it'll probably be around that. I think you have to be a MCA member for at least 60 days though.

It is important to remember that individual dealers may choose to honor these plans, but they are not obligated to do so. My dealership specifically told me they would not offer x plan pricing on the mach e.

It seems too early for most questions we might want to ask a prospective seller. They haven't been trained. Final pricing and options aren't available. Sales incentives won't be known until the time of sale. They don't have details on accessories, charging stations, and so forth. They haven't placed orders for their demo units. They don't have service/maintenance information.

The only thing I can think of for now is the one thing you already identified (if it's applicable to you): "Will the dealership be honoring A/Z/X-plan pricing for my purchase of the 2021 Mustang Mach-E?" You should get this response in writing from the dealer(s) you're considering.

As @zhackwyatt stated, for MCA or similar club/membership X-plan eligibility (the following text is from Ford): "For membership-based partner companies, you must provide a membership card that indicates a 60-day minimum membership."
