I received a text and email this morning that my Select 8458 303/345 is now shipped.

Shipped as well! ETA - 10/27 - 11/02 - I think this waiting period is going to be worse than waiting for the car to get built. So close - yet so far.
How long do you suppose the dealer prep will be? and will they update the car with all available updates prior to releasing the car?

The dealer will update everything for latest software, etc. it usually is a day or two before the vehicle is ready to take delivery after reaching the dealership.

So I contacted the dealer, who has been very forthcoming about information. he said unfortunately they will not be doing the OTA updates prior to me taking possession of the car. He shared with me the pre-purchase checklist, which I posted further up in the thread which list the dealership requirements by ford prior to releasing the car to me. Updates are not part of the list. He also told me typically the car should be ready to go the same day or the next day, but will depend on my availability.

Well… I called dealer to get railcar number. He couldn’t find it. He did confirm delivery 10/27 - 11/2. And said the info showing for him was… the car was in Lecheria (which is the name of the train station about 5 miles from the Ford plant) and it was “at a junction“. So whatever that means lol. I told him I would call back next week to check on progress.

Wonder how many cars can fit on a railcar. I will share my railcar number if/when I get it and update forum on progress, at least until out of Mexico. I’m sure some of our cars are riding the rails together

Might as well wait until it gets to KC. The rail car number you get now is only for the Mexico > Texas > Kansas City segment. Once it gets to KC, it will get unloaded and loaded onto another rail car.

You can try Ford chat, that's how I got my railcar #. Then called the rail co directly and gave my # and they were able to tell me more info. Also the lady from the train co, also told me it's 4 days to Laredo Tx, then another 5 days to KC.

My order is FINALLY showing shipped! I’ll probably contact Ford chat next week to see where it is.

Since you are on top of this, I'm gong to wait till yours is in KC, I am assuming my car is on the same train, so should get the KC at the same time, Ill try and tracking the convoy after that.

I'll check again on Thursday or Friday--I was told it take 4-5 days from TX to KC--I'll keep you posted.
