/sings “Still sittin on the ramp in Muncie. No mooovement in 2 weeks”

One would think it better to allow us to track the snail pace shipment of our cars on our own vs tying up the poor Ford chat reps with the constant “Dude, where’s my car?!

I totally gave them several… suggestions… on the survey regarding how they could improve their service. I reminded them they may currently have a monopoly on decent EVs, but that won’t always be the case. And I will remember how utterly stupid and unprofessional they have been regarding their shipping practice.

I know they have us by the short and curlies, for now, and don’t care, but I feel better spitting a little venom their way ??
Not to defend Ford, but its unfair to blame them for shipping when its really out of their hands. Once the car is built and shipped, they are pretty much powerless and clueless until they get information from their shippers at each checkpoint.

The car goes through different possible congestion points: Kansas City Southern Rail, US Customs, Jack Cooper Trucking, Another Rail Company (CSX, Union Pacific, BNSF, ect..), last mile transport via United Roads. There could be delays and holds up at any one of above mentioned services and there is nothing Ford can do.

My car has made it to the final rail yard in Wilmington DE since 10/28, but still hasn't been unloaded yet because there is no space. Now that could be because Norfolk Sothern is short on people or space. Once the car is unloaded, you're at the mercy of truckers to move the car to the dealer. Shortage of truckers and truckers refusing shorter routes could also come into play. If the truckers aint moving cars, new cars aint getting unloaded.

Ford is not the only company that uses the rail. Could be supply chain easing and GM, Toyota, Honda pumping out lots of cars too and congesting the rail yards or lack of truckers. My dealer has 6 cars still sitting at the rail yard waiting to be delivered to them and they have no clue when a trucker will pick it up.

Damn it... my dates just changed by a month... I was supposed to receive it between 10/29-11/4... now 12/7-12/13 :( even have a trailer car # from the dealer, with the 11/4 date... Will be reaching out to the dealer now.
Heard that these one month delays are a glitch in the system? Saw some posts about that..

who are you chatting with, just got off a chat and they told me to talk to marketing and gave me a phone number
Just Ford chat. Although, I emailed my dealer yesterday to ask if he could add my phone number to VINView so I would get a text notification anytime something changes with my vehicle. He hadn’t heard of VINView, but when he showed up to work today, there it was! He was pretty excited about all of the information it gave him. He added my number for text updates, and I did receive a text confirmation that I am now signed up to receive updates for my car. That was just this morning, and I have not received any updates yet. But at least now I will know when it gets moved from ramp 6R!

Just a theory

If you are on Ramp 6P. That is Norfolk Sothern Rail. Not sure where in PA you are, but it should be rail to Wilmington DE or Newark NJ.

If chat said it was via Jack Cooper, that is most likely going from Ramp 6R across town to Ramp 6P.
Good to know - thanks. The ford representative was not particularly good at getting me the information so I called back and found that the vehicle was indeed last at Ramp 6P. It's not meant to get to the dealer until next Saturday (12th) so there I expect it will leave Missouri soon if it hasn't already. Thanks so much for helpful info.

but what is the link? I was chatting with them, and they passed me to marketing, which is not correct... I went through Ford.com ->Support & Service ->Chat ->Vehicle Features.

Should i have chosen Sync?

Nope. I do exactly what you just did. But Ford chat doesn’t have access to VINView, from what I understand. They only have access to the Vehicle Visibility Report, which provides very limited info. I got the VINView info from my dealer. I’ve never been passed on to Ford Marketing. That’s weird.

I have reached the final prep phase!, almost pickup time.

Edit: Estimated delivery was 11/01/22, got to the dealership on that very day. Keep the faith all who are waiting on delivery.
Pics when you get it.

Our Premium Mach E was originally supposed to be delivered by 11/2, just got an email stating 12/10-12/16. Car is sitting in Kansas City, and needs to make it to WA. Starting to get nervous it won’t make it before December 31st. ?

I too just got the dreaded email. GT built 9/30, shipped 10/6. Original ETA of 11/1 but now a new ETA of 11/27-12/3. Dealership doesn't think it's accurate, but no other evidence disproves it. Bummer...

My estimated delivery is now updated to 11/7-11/13 from 10/28-11/3. I checked with the ford chat and they confirmed that vehicle was shipped from Argentine, Kansas via Railcar # CNA 712722 (Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway Co) on 10/23/22. But when I checked few days back with the ford chat they confirmed that the car is still in Ramp 6M, Argentine, KS. How can I confirm that car is actually shipped from Ramp 6M, Argentine, KS?
