WOW, very impressed Mark!, Thank you, one of the best virtual tour and Q&A!

Question, have you ever sitting inside a Model Y? If so, how's the 2nd row leg room compare to it?

Can't say. I've only been in a Model X.

There was a Model Y owner there yesterday checking out the Mach E. He's a Ford fan and thinks Ford has a real winner here.

I hope they are there tomorrow.
I expect you to pick up the reporting tomorrow. I won’t be back “on tour “ until Wheaton.

I'm going tomorrow and will see if I can tell the difference. It's been a couple of months since I was in the Y, so I may not remember.

Today's test ride is much longer (17 minutes), goes on faster roads, more curving roads and shows the turning radius in a U-turn.
Thanks for posting. What struck me was how quiet the ride seemed. Usually you have a lot more outside noise. The loudest noise by far was produced by the windshield wipers. Was that just me?

You mentioned it was smooth and the video certainly made it look that way.

I didn't realize that you could actually do hands free even before the hand free feature was released. Definitely not safe and glad the vehicle lets you know that it isn't.

The hands free was cool - especially the car kept up with the curve- very nice

More cool stuff I photographed and asked about:

Ride Height, Sill Height, and Egress
Lots of questions about ride height brought up the thick battery pack and deep sill. Here are shots of the height added by the pack in the front and back. As for the deep sill, I have yet to hit my foot on it or through it was an issue. Others have talked about the ingress and egress (getting in and out) and apparently the egress is something JD Powers dinged Ford on. I'm 5'11" and found the car really easy to get in and out of every door. I've also watched quite a few people get in and out of the demo cars over the last two days and only spotted one older gentleman using his hand to hold the roof to guide himself in.

Also, note the reflection in the polished black wheel lip molding -- nice!

Rearview Mirror View and Headrests
Yes, they come out if you want an unobstructed view out the back.

Groceries in the Frunk? Use Small Bags or Lose the Dividers
I forgot to make sure there was a standard-sized reusable grocery bag in the Leaf before I drove over. There are usually several but not today. I did have a slightly over-sized freezer bag that I stuffed with a bag of plastic grocery bags. With the Frunk divider in, a standard paper bag won't fit in any of those compartments. Without the divider I'm betting at least three full bags would fit fine.

Front License Option
Another view of the lip to which I think Craig's license holder will fit perfectly -- so does Craig. See the other thread for details.

Flat Black Plastic Looks Gray on the Shiny Black Car
The black accents are suddenly lighter. A very nice touch.

Wiper Control
Sorry, my photo from yesterday was blurry. Here's a better one along with one from the back. It's really convenient that the dial is accessible from both sides. Yes, there is an automatic (rain sensing) option.

I also tried the washers. They are indeed below the hood, right at the back edge:

Planning on an After-Market Hitch?
This panel underneath the car in back, just forward of the rear bumper panel, is flexible, soft plastic with a couple of access ports. Mounting a hit will require removing this panel, installing the hitch to the frame above it, cutting a small hole for the descending portion of the hitch to pass through, and reinstalling the panel. If you watch installation videos for EcoHitch and Hidden Hitch, this is a standard practice.

Moisture in Headlight
Not only did I find it in the car being driven around by the regional Ford reps two weeks ago (same one as yesterday and today's ride alongs) but I also see it in this IB Mach E that was one of the two stationary cars for the Tour. Not so much, but still there. I guess this one has been driven in the rain a bit. No surprise as it's rained much of the last 2 days.

Next post -- Sync4a screens.
Fantastic details. Thank you.
+10 points for a Berkey Creamery grocery bag!! ?

Regarding the headlight moisture, that amount looks perfectly normal. Given the humid weather, and the fact that LEDs don't generate as much heat as a halogen, I'm not surprised some of it is condensing in there. The headlamp housings are vented to the atmosphere and I doubt they'd ever get any worse than that.

Yes, it already comes with a quasi hand-free where you must apply some pressure to the wheel. You can take your hands off briefly but then it scolds you. Next year we get full hands-free.

Glad I captured it well. When sitting in the front seat it’s hard to get the steering wheel and road to demonstrate this.

Yes, the car is very quiet. That’s part of why I like the propulsion sounds. Otherwise it’s would be way too easy to get into speed trouble unintentionally. I’ll leave my speed trouble for when I’m enjoying it.
