I just got my car back from the dealership and while they said they successfully pushed all of the updates it's still says it's on 3.6.1. @Mach-Lee can you check my car again? I wasn't even able to leave it there because the techs and guy I left it with this morning was gone by the time I picked it up and wouldn't be back until Monday. If it doesn't OTA by then I'm going to call and complain.

OK, there could be a bit of a situation here, so read carefully. They updated your PCM and powertrain modules only. After doing that, now the GWM update shows up properly. That update needs to be completed first before the APIM update will show up. Otherwise I would expect the 4.2.1 OTA to show up, but probably not until next week. Here's the current update list showing the GWM update:

However they did something they shouldn't have. They ran "Module Update Repair" on your APIM, but didn't finish it (probably because they didn't have the required USB adapters). This is bad because you now have a 20 day timer counting down until your APIM is permanently locked and will not be updatable ever again. When module update repair is run, IT MUST BE FINISHED. By April 12th.

Your car needs to go back to the dealer. I would suggest they run the GWM update, rescan, and see if the APIM update will then show up. If so, then they need to apply that APIM update. If the APIM update does not show up after performing the GWM update OR fails, then they need to use the proper USB adapters and finish what they started with Module Update Repair.

This is the TSB your dealer needs to follow in regards to finishing Module Update Repair properly: TSB 22-2404 - Revised TSB for Stuck USB Updates. I suggest you print that out, highlight the Caution text, and hand that to your service advisor when you go back. Your 20 days runs out on April 12th, and your APIM must be updated by that date or else it will be locked and will have to be replaced (multiple month backorder). You can read my other posts on that page as well.

The tech should have never run Module Update Repair, I don't think yours needed that. When techs decide to run tools on a whim they need to read the warmings before starting them. Reading is fundamental...

Don't take it back until it has the new UI installed. And you might have to order those USB and ethernet adapters in the TSB to give them. I'm hoping they aren't needed and the APIM will just install normally after the GWM is run, but having them just in case to save time is wise.

I was just commenting on another post that the disparity between versions of cars on the road is 100% unacceptable. Imagine if Apple followed the same release process, they’d be rioting in the streets!
I’m still running 3.5.4 - with 4.1.x being completely retired with 4.2.x already out, and I haven’t seen a single update. Infuriating.

I'm curious, how can you tell that they ran the Module Repair Update but didn't finish it? I'm wondering since it doesn't show that in your screenshot. And I'm sending emails to my dealerships EV service desk guy.

They ran it twice. It should say "completed successfully", "This vehicle is not eligible" or something at the end. Looks like they just exited the program after they figured out they didn't have the USB adapters it was talking about.

@Ford Motor Company sounds a bit stressful and touching base to see if Ford could help @Nerwyn dealer sounds like may be a good idea? I would not update it (touch it) myself if I new a few days later it may lock and cost $.

I contacted the dealer and they are saying its going to cost $265 for them to just check the issue.
Has any one else have a similar issue?
Why don't you go visit someone like Mach N Cheese and see if he'll update your car. Not sure why the dealer would charge to check your car if it's under warranty.

My car goes in today, for about the 12th time in a year maybe. No updates since May, no BC, no lane centering since May. I’ve got another case number from Ford, hoping they finally get it worked out on my job 1, dec 2020 build car.

that’s my next step…
Several other of us have FDRS rig, but I think for our area Andy is the only one with a yearly subscription. This dog is too miserly with the kibble to pop for that. 🤪🐩

You show me a rich guy I will show you a cheap one ;) Seen a few of his vid's I would trust him knowing what he is doing. I would really like seeing this thing just OTA consistently all by itself. If the 12V is a problem have a program where the car comes on if plugged and charges the 12V. A pre-install routine and then update it. I do not want to monitor a 12V, start it 10 time or drive it aimlessly around in hopes it updates. Just not in me I will wait a year see what happens and if way behind again I will whine again.
