My $0.02: It *is* grabber blue--its just that anything in London looks dingy. (There is a 130% chance that the sky was overcast and grey making the car look overcast and grey.)

Hey guys, I was at the reveal event in London yesterday and today. Actually I'm currently sitting at Heathrow on my way home. Have a lot of news for you guys, but most of it will have to wait until I have the time to cut together all my videos.

Highlight was definitely finally riding in the Mach E as a passenger as experience a hard launch from a full stop. Also got an interview with Darren Palmer about a lot of stuff on camera. And recorded the whole 30 min reveal presentation (would you guys be interested?)

But on the topic of this color: This is NOT Grabber Blue. The car was actually a white car that was wrapped in this amazing looking satin blue, so it's sadly not a real color option for a car but a custom wrap for this testdrive prototype.

Also all that you can see in London (there are 3 different cars, two for show in Grey and Red, and the blue wrapped for testdrives) are not EU models, they are still US spec prototypes.

I will try to get a video for my german channel done over the weekend. As last time I will write down a summary of the most important stuff here too.

Here's one of the photos I took from the real car.

Interesting red stitching on the console but not the seats.
Since the interior shots have the big red engine stop emergency button on top on the dash I'm sure they are from the blue one. The blue car was just a test drive prototype, don't take anything seriously you see visually on this car. The grey and red ones on the press event were for showing a production near interior.

When you look closely you can see that the a pillar on the testdrive prototype is just raw plastic and totally scratched ?

@Ace, yes on the Darren Palmer interview! Presumably in English? If he speaks German, great. Just please have subtitles auf Englisch.

Definitely interested in getting your thoughts on what it was like to ride in one, even if it's just a prototype.

I'm really impressed at the amount of hype Ford keeps pouring into the Mach-E ahead of its global launch. They've been anything but silent with a constant stream of light interviews and auto show appearances.

I just want to get more technical and performance specs which is probably the last thing we'll get!

Seeing it in a another shade of blue is nice, certainly generated plenty of pages worth :). However more worrying and disappointing for me is that the euro version has different steering and suspension to suit euro tastes :(

This gets tiring really fast Ford, the bean countered missing features that you get with US versions of a lot of cars is bad enough. No doubt the euro mach-e will handle like a car while I suppose over here we will get the default handling of a boat.

Don't European OEMs change up their driving dynamics and hardware between euro vs. NA versions of their vehicles?

There will be like no bigdifferences between EU und US driving. I was told suspension, steering, etc are tuned in Europe but the same settings will for the most part be used for the US too

Edit: Actually got that on camera.

Compared to the traditional opaque roof, the glass roof increases headroom 1.6" in front, and almost 1" in the rear.
Although I saw one video where the glass roof only partially helped anyone tall in the rear seat, as it didn't extend back quite far enough. Looked like when he'd sit up straight instead of leaning slightly forward that his head would hit the lower edge of the roof where the glass stopped.

Enlightening! And some pictures I took from two Youtube videoes seem to confirm that this car was originally (star) white. The car in the videoes and pictures does not have wheel arches painted in the same colour as the car, so that ought to make it quite clear that it isn't a First Edition (also, of course, the FE doesn't come in white). But why, then, is the blue wrapped car shown in London, equipped with a scuff plate marked with "First Edition"? Is this a prototype with a bit of this and that? And will this "satin blue" colour ever be an official choice?

The videoes mentioned are these:
