My Dealer just wrote to me telling me not to expect my MME before the Holidays. It's a FE with a Production Date of November 26th, but the VIN tracker never had it in Transit. I was hoping for a holiday present, I guess it'll be a new years present instead :p No ETA dates were given, just that it was going to be after the holidays.

I'm still unsure if those are customer units or just demonstration units. They had to have left the Mexico plant prior to OKTB.
If I remember correctly @trutolife27 said the other day that the cars were ready to go (OKTB) but that it was the distribution issues that were holding things up which is why OKTB hadn't been officially approved. I assume that they had found some space on a ship to Europe and decided, if the cars were good to go, to get some this side of the pond as quickly as possible. Not quite sure whether they are customer cars or demo cars.

But not nearly quickly enough for any customer cars to already be in Europe. That was my point, that if no customer (or FCTP) cars were able to leave the Mexico plant until OKTB, and if it was just given this week, there's no way the ones in pictures in Norway could be customer units.

Unless some of our info is incorrect.

Are you sure the OKTB is a global date and not a US market date? Seems like there would be different ones for different regions given they have differences in the models depending on the region, and different safety and other regulation requirements and certifications.

We've actually been told there is a NA OKTB and a EU/UK OKTB. To my knowledge, neither has been finalized but NA is only awaiting an approved shipping plan.

Not really sure of any of this. ?

But OKTB was explained as more of a Ford quality checklist than a government regulator one (although maybe some of the items on the list are govt-checks too). A checklist of things to make sure build quality is showing a high degree of dependability to minimize the chances of expensive recalls later. Thus why they want to hold all sellable units at the plant where it's fixable/adjustable much more easily and cheaply.

He made it sound like they randomly pick a sampling of vehicles on the plant lot and do a very thorough breakdown and quality check. As long as they pass, they're confident all of them will be. And that part appeared to get the go-ahead just last weekend. Transport issues were the remaining hurdle. Although I would think transport issues will likely be an ongoing battle for months.

As @ChasingCoral implied, the NA and EU/UK OKTB criteria are different. Thus the dates could be different.

...
You are correct:
The cars deliverd to Norway are NOT customers cars; they are for demo only.

Actually the first prognoses for early reservations holders in Norway is now summer 2021. Maybe a handful will be delivered to high profile customers in late February because Ford Norway initially said customer deliveries would start in high volume in Nov 2019, then Q1 2021 du to Covid and now silently a further push back for most reservation holders.

Estimated delivery time for a First Edition to Norway for "1st day reservation holder (Nov 18th 2019)" is "from 22-24 weeks" counting from Dec 11th.
