TSB 23-2281: 'Frunk System Fault Service Required' Error Message for 2021 Mach-E

Just went to the dealer this week to fix the HVBT.
But here what was written in the report:
« Reprogrammed BCM, then frunk message in cluster. So made TSB 23-2281. Reprogrammed GWM and DDM. Cleared codes. Then was able to activate the frunk with FDRS and works. »

Well it looks as if Sebastien’s dealer updated his BCM for the service he had them perform. The car will throw the frunk error code if the GFM is not also updated when the BCM is (it’s also true the other way around). I guess we have to figure out how to make that service necessary for all 2021 Job1 cars so that they throw the error. ?‍?

Yeah, but now my fordpass cannot communicate with the car anymore…. It says to go into Settings, then to enable all the Connectivity items. But there are NONE in the menu…

That is a known glitch, they then mysteriously reappear.

Connectivity items in Sync menu never show up unless the car is in communication with the mothership at that time. At the top of your Sync screen when you see this icon:

..that's when your car is talking to the cloud, and that's when you can check your connectivity settings and they should show up in the Sync menu. (Of course you have to be stopped to see this menu, can't see it while rolling).

Leaving the "privacy" settings to off so your car can freely communicate with the cloud will let your car talk about you behind your back and increase the chances of seeing the conntected services menu more often.

That's a bug that should be fixed in the new 5.1.1. and 6.1.0 updates.

Also, on the BCM/GFM error thing. I discovered this in Aug of last year. About two weeks after the initial release of the BCM update they released the GFM update that should have actually been sent out at the same time. Once that GFM update was applied the error (below) disappeared.

@Mach-Lee Maybe. But since that update, my fordpass won’t communicate with the car. Are there other ways to resolve this, aside from waiting for an OTA?

@Mach-Lee , I tried removing fuse #11, as seen in a different post. To no avail…. Any other suggestions?
