This thing of the OTA updates is maddening. They seemed to have released 6.14 after 7.0.2. I'm still on 6.7 (I believe), but have received 24-PU0119-DC-CHG4 (if memory serves me right). There is no place to see the list of updates of your car or, at least, see what's currently installed. You can see the latest update, that's it, and some times it disappears after a while.

I've been in software development for over 40 years and in my world everybody receives the same official updates at the same time, unless you disable it. Here you seem to be at the whims of the Ford OTA gods on what update you get. I can't come up with a reasonable explanation why this should be the case.

I’ve tried several steps over this past week and have had no luck getting the OTA updates. I performed a factory reset today and let car sit in all day and still nothing. App and website report updates are good. Last update reported 23-PU0110-RAD-PS.

Would anyone be able to review my VIN to see if something is stuck before I make the trip to the dealership?

VIN: 3FMTK4SE2NMA13923
I had a problem with updates - "download interrupted by another process". Called Ford technical support. They indicated that the problem was due to a 12 volt battery issue. Had the battery replaced under warranty and that fixed the problem.

If that’s the one that “fixed” radio presets last August, you probably have the same issue I do.

My last OTA was August 7.

I tried everything the forum suggests. Had the dealer manually update everything the first week of January……. Still no updates.

This is what someone who pulled my VIN said-

“You have a "-LKB" revision of the gateway module software. That, I believe, is what's keeping further updates from becoming available for your car. I'm pretty confident that is what's keeping you from getting further updates. Updates for the gateway (GWM) went from the -LKB that you have to -LKC, and then to PAE. And in between GWM updates other software updates were made available for Sync and the TCU and things like the IPC, etc.”

Basically it’s something that Ford has to fix on their end and the dealer can’t do anything. So I’m still waiting.
Very few people are aware of this issue. I check a lot of VINs and I am not sure if it was me or not that told you this, but I can verify that this is an problem I have come across on many vehicles; not just Mach E's.

There have been updates. Take it into the dealership. They can help you. Do you have it registered on Ford.com? Do you use the Ford pass app? If not, start there. Otherwise, dealership.

Ok. I’m not sure if she can help. BUT, she does early releases of the updates. Maybe she can do something!! Also, go ahead and join us on early release of the updates, once your vehicle gets back to normal mode. But, her name is Chelsea Gale. And here is her Email.

Good luck ?
I would send this by PM before people blow up her inbox.

I'd like to ask a simple question: if the car runs well (& mine does), what is the down side to just waiting for the next OTA update to happen? I've also had no updates since last summer & FordPass says I'm up to date. Last long road trip (Chistmas week) went off without a hitch, except for the usual public charging woes here & there. The trouble-shooting is way out of my comfort zone. So: does it matter?

Does it matter?

At first, not much.

But as time goes on you miss out on bug fixes and new content (like Bluecruise 1.2 and 1.4, charging curve updates, 12v charging change, new layouts etc).

If it doesn’t get fixed you’ll never get another update.

Unfortunately this exact problem doesn’t fix itself. So “waiting for the next update” isn’t an option. It’s been 8 months.

I would say it does not matter unless you are into the latest and greatest. I am in the same situation and I have had zero issues other than this OTA pause. I will say if I intended to keep the car for 10 years I might find it annoying but if it works fine for me now how much better can an OTA really improve it? My plan; however, is to let it go in MY26 in hopes there have even a significant upgrade by then. Heck just the 7kW heater is significant to me here in Alaska!

This thread is the experience most owners have with this car. They update a few of the EA here to build up hype. A few talking about what no one else got and probably never will unless they push for their service to do it and most likely have to pay after 3 years. This is nothing new and has been going on since the beginning of 2021. The reality for most is more like this thread and that the OTA process still is not working with this vehicle. Whole hype is all smoke and mirrors and not close to reality for most.

When updates happen that stop your charging port from melting and having burnt smells or an update that refines your 12V BMS such that your 12V is maintained it would be a nice addition but no joy here. It does update just updates are not sent from Ford to the have nots.

You have to understand, this thread is something different altogether.

This thread is for people with a very specific problem who haven’t gotten ANY updates in over 8 months.

That means no 5.1, no 6.X updates, no anything.

I’m EA and was getting updates at least once per month until last August.

I and a few others here have a specific server side issue with Ford that they have to manually fix.

“Most owners” have gotten tons of updates over the last 8 months. Only a rare few have gotten zero.

EA updates are NOT to “build up hype.” In fact it’s the opposite. EA are under an NDA and are forbidden from talking about the updates. We also are Beta testers to figure out any bugs.

I was in your boat. My last update was that radio update as well, and nothing was coming. Of course the dealer was refusing to do any updates beyond those required for the HVBJB update. Maybe you would have luck asking your dealer to specifically update the GWM? I finally sucked it up and bought the mongoose connector and updated my car with FDRS. Since then, I have been getting OTAs, although with the same frustrating and inconsistent pace that many deal with. But at least it’s working now.

If you happen to be one of the many West Virginians who frequently drives into Northern Virginia and want to plunk down 50 bucks for an FDRS license, let me know.

Do independent auto repair shops have FDRS and the ability to force updates to MMEs?

Why not just add a 'start conditioning' button inside the charging menu. Insisting on a 'funny walk' to turn on a switch is, well, stupid.

They can. However, the labor charge per hour would not make sense vs buying the tools needed to do it yourself and future-proofing yourself from having to wait when new stuff comes out or having to depend on the dealer for minor things that you can fix yourself.

Been there did that with 1.7.1 and it continues. Appears to me everyone is a beta tester. Release something it causes major problems and then shut it down. Correct and repeat. Leaving some behind forever. You would think after 3 years you would see some improvement but nope.
