I just got my car back from having the springs and the front sway bar installed. They did not install the rear sway bar as they said it requires to unplug the battery. It that true? For those who had the rear installed, was there a work around or is it safe to unplug without causing any issues? Thanks in advance.

The instructions say to unplug and it’s safest to do so. If you carefully support the rear bar when removing and installing, you might be able to do it without unplugging the rear motor harness. Not that I have ever done such a thing. ??

Thank you very much. Maybe the tech and I should have read the instructions before starting.

Unplugging it and plugging it back in is a piece of cake. It’s a flip lock. You do need to unbolt the 2 10mm bolts to be able to move it out of the way. There’s no sparks. It’s no danger at all. I was a little skeptical of it at first, but I’ve done it four or five times now.

I have personally installed 5 rear sway bars and never unplugged the battery cable/plug. The bar easily comes out and goes back in without damaging it as long as you are careful. If I thought there was any chance of damaging the plug I would have removed it.

Soooo? You have to let us know what you think? Everyone so far has really liked the improved ride and handling with these two mods.

Just had my springs replaced today...and so far so good! Perhaps too early to tell, but my wife and I thought it was smoother already, will see in the next week. Thanks so much for all who helped me with this decision.

I’m liking it! Haven’t put too much miles in yet. I did drive over a brief area where the road condition is pretty bad. I have saved a clip on my dash cam prior to the install withe new springs and will place the video side by side to see if there’s a noticeable difference.

Attempting to slowly self install the springs and sways now and so far it’s not too bad.

Does anyone know the torque specs for the front top hat strut mount? I saw that the KW coils install instructions says 37 lb.ft (35 Nm) but that seems low.

Yes it is 37 lbs but I torque mine to 30-35. They do not need to be super tight at all. If you over tighten, they will strip out or break.

Make sure to align the 2 tabs on those before setting the front springs (when you remove the spring compressor). There's a couple degrees of angle in them.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Eibach GT performance springs on a 4xer IMG_5094

Here is a pic of the “Mach e forum trifecta” to improve ride quality lol. Just finished the install a few nights ago and that rear control arm knuckle bolt was a pain. I set the konis to 1.75 and OEM premium 19” tires to 38/40psi. My initial impressions are that the ride has improved dramatically. I’ll have a more detailed reaction after I drive it a bit more and after my wife drives it.

Here’s a pic of my lowered car next to a jeep. After driving on this set up for a while now, I can definitely recommend these eibach progressive springs to obtain a smoother ride on a premium 4XER. The springs absorbs cracks and uneven roads so much better now. It’s still a stiff sport ride but in a good way where it’s expected. I wasn’t in love with the idea of lowering this car but the look is growing on me and makes it stand out from the crowd of Mach E’s in the Bay Area. I haven’t scraped yet with this height but all my cars are lowered so I’m used to driving low cars.

As a result of all this suspension upgrades, I am taking curves more confidently and quicker than before. My OEM skinny primacy tires squeal very easily and now is limiting me on grip. I’lol hold off on aligning my tires that have 25k miles on them and align when I upgrade to stickier rubbers. Let me know if anyone has recs on stickier, wider tires on stock rims.

dphunky, Car looks great and being a little lowered gives it a European look.

Your wheels are 7" wide and about the best you can do is go from your 225/55/19 to a 245/50/19. They will be a bit wider and stay roughly the same diameter so no speedo change. Those are the widest tires you should put on your 7" wheel.

I assume you want to stick with an all season and the three best high performance all seasons would be Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus, Pirelli P Zero All Season. They all come in that wider size and multiple members here run these tires. If you are not worried about max performance in an all season, going with a grand touring all season might be the ticket. It is the same as the Michelin Primacy tire you have now but would recommend either the Michelin CrossClimate 2 or Vredestein Quatrac Pro+. That is my 2 cents.

You don't want those springs, you want the GT lowering springs Part# E10-35-054-04-22 Pro-Kit
https://eibach.com/eps-search?pf=PRO-KIT&year=2022&make=Ford&model=Mustang+Mach-E&submodel=GT+AWD+|+Excludes+vehicles+w/+MagneRide+Damping+System

Progressive springs are what you need for both front and rear to give you the smoother ride.
In this post ( #32 ) I have the specs on the Eibach springs. Also you don't want the SportLine springs as they will lower the car more than you probably want. The ProLine already lowers the car a little over 1".

I have installed those GT lowering springs on several member's premium Mach-E's and all have been very happy with them.
Hi @markboris, apologies for referencing an old reply, but would these GT springs work even on a RWD Premium, even though their site only recommends AWD?
