10,000 service is tire rotation and a bunch of "inspect". Discount Tire does rotation for free.

Most people have paid around $50 for that service at the dealer. Discount Tire is a good option, just make sure the lift it correctly. It helps if you have your own pucks to take with you.

I called my local Ford dealer to make an appointment for my 10k service. I said not to rotate my tires because I just put on new snow tires. Her response was that unless I had some issue I wanted them to check, there was no point of bringing it in. I said "thanks, talk to you next year"

My dealer charged 40 bucks and was worth it to me.

I paid $20 for the tire rotation and they did the wiper blade recall at the same time. Mobile service did it in my driveway.

Tire rotation is important, other than that the rest are things we should be doing anyway as car owners/operators (checking signal lamps, headlights, wipers, brake function). I'm not expecting to spend anything on maintenance other than tire rotations and wipers in the next 39 months/39,000 miles.

One of the biggest benefits of EVs is fewer mechanical parts (the drivetrain in particular) that needs lubricating/checking. New brakes should last 50,000 miles before needing pads/rotors, at the very least. The dealer 'maintenance plan' strategy for padding sales (their bottom line) is doomed with EV sales ticking upwards. They'll need to find some new angle to extract money out of us, and you can bet they will or else face extinction as car makers go direct to customers because why not.

Why would spending $40 be worthwhile, if you can get the same service for free and faster?

I felt better having someone look it over after the first year and a half, especially with it being a new model for ford and my first ev. There were also enough glitches along the way that made me uneasy with the quality at first. I’d also seen some horror stories at the time about people not knowing how to properly jack up a mach e.

Do it (tire rotation) yourself, save money, ensure it's done right (with a torque wrench). (Most) Dealers do not care about YOUR car....
