Yes, my phone says it's trying to connect to my car and sometimes it does -- my garage is separated from the house by about 50 feet. Try logging out from Ford Pass on your phone when you are in your house and see if that makes a difference. Note you don't need to remove it, just log out.

What is not working is the low energy Bluetooth, BLE is designed for low-power applications and does not support high data rates comparable to Bluetooth Classic. BLE is what is used for PAAK, Android Auto uses Bluetooth Classic. BLE is more secure, and can work when your phone is almost dead.

According to Ford Support, this is a known bug that they are working on. Seems to be a problem with Samsung Android primarily. If you want, there are at least 40 reports that could send you a VIN and local Ford Dealer.
