Just completed the Kenwood speaker install myself! Can say that it definitely sounds warmer but I think I need to play with my BEOsonic as it is still a little bit too bright for my liking.
Do most of you with the Kenwood run it in stereo or surround, and what tuning do you prefer?
Also time...
I have a 2024 premium AWD with the extended battery. I got it in January of 2025 with all the incentives including a big dealer discount. The out the door price was so good that it overcame all my first EV trepidations.
I'm an old guy and have owned many nice ICE vehicles and have done...
I have the Pixel 9 Pro XL on maximum screen resolution and I no longer have this problem. I say "no longer" because I did experience a similar problem about four months ago. I don't know exactly when, or with what update (phone or Sync), the problem was solved, but it works perfectly fine now.
I see the black tube crossover network that comes with the Kenwood speaker, but what is the plastic piece with circular nub that you have soldered to the end? That doesn't look like anything I saw in my installation. If the speaker plays when attached to another source and doesn't play at all...
That is correct. If you are just replacing the center speaker and connecting it with the stock speaker wires, then you do NOT use the crossover module that comes with the Kenwood speakers.
I'm liking the look of that GT. I have bronze colored wheels on my '24 MMEP and I'm wondering why they didn't use bronze wheels on yours to match the grill. I think that would look even better.
I used this 14 gauge one from Amazon. I just cut and stripped the non- business end and attached it to my sub's harness.

Mine is also a lease. That is partly why I went the Hertz sub route. I got the connector for the stock subwoofer from Mark Boris and used it to connect the new sub. I can easily reconnect the stock sub to return it to stock. Same thing with using the 12v accessory plug for power.
I did the same as rreddy3 and installed it without the inline filter. Since we are just swapping out the driver, it is safe to assume that the stock B&O system already accounts for limitations of the stock driver and the Kenwood should have no problem at all playing within those parameters.
I'm kinda of jealous of you guys that had the very cool first car experience. My first motorized transportation was a 1972 Honda CB350 because that was all I could afford. My first car was a base model 1975 VW Rabbit with no power anything and an AM only radio that had a single built in...
Great to hear that the speaker arrived and you had no problems with the install. I have a big smile from reading that you too are a Surround mode convert with the Kenwood center channel. I'm loving it and can't go back to stereo. Today I finished my subwoofer installation. I used the...
Ahlarict has given excellent advice and the EV-Vida shows you everything you need to see for the practical installation. We both used the Kenwood Excelon that has a low 83bd efficiency. I have no doubt that the Infinity driver EV-Vida used in the video sounds better than stock in terms of high...
I did the same with a PNY 256GB 3.2 drive formatted with exFAT. I have all my high resolution FLAC files in separate folders by artist and a few by specific compilations I put together much like your playlists. It works very well and is easy to navigate. After a few mods to the speakers -...
It doesn't surprise me that Ford/B&O were able to milk decent sound out of some very basic budget drivers. That is what DSP does best. The DSP chips are cheap these days and they save lots of money by using a DSP amplifer and going cheap on the drivers. When I looked more closely at the...
