  1. The truth about Electrify America's progress and Traveling with the Mach E

The power is printed on the front of each charger. I've always seen both 150kW and 350kW at each charging station I've been to. I think they're all that way.
  2. Li-ion co-inventor patents glass battery that could upturn auto industry

Interesting, but patent application first published in Dec 2016. Old news http://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/search-bool.html&r=26&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=goodenough.IN.&OS=IN/goodenough&RS=IN/goodenough
  3. Convince Me

EV's loose range as speed increases, or temperature drops, or accessories like heat/AC are employed. Winter driving at freeway speeds really zaps the range. For this reason, buy the most range you can afford.
  4. Electrify America charge rate for --- is up to 20 miles per minute

I, too, would like to see the Ford charging curves, but I'm not aware of any manufacturer that publishes them. There's just way to many variables when you charge. Mostly it's up to the early adopters to publish their experiences on forums like this. So yeah, if you're an early adopter, you're...
  5. One Pedal driving Mach-E? Are you a fan?

Chevy Bolt offers 3 regen modes..."D" which is practically no regen, "L" which is one pedal driving and then there's a paddle behind the steering wheel that offers max regen(and stopping power) when pulled. I drive in "L" and only use the brakes in an emergency situation.
  6. The truth about Electrify America's progress and Traveling with the Mach E

The comments about the video (good video, thanks for doing this, etc) are positive, but the comments from the people who actually used (or tired to use) EA are mostly negative. Don't get me wrong, I'm pulling for EA. I hope they get their chargers fixed before the Mach-E and other new EV's...
  7. The truth about Electrify America's progress and Traveling with the Mach E

This guy has a good channel (I'm a subscriber) but he's wrong on EA's improvement. Read the comments to this video to see what I mean.
  8. The truth about Electrify America's progress and Traveling with the Mach E

I expect Ford to have better build quality than Tesla. And Ford has a large dealer network in case I need a repair. And I also expect the Mach-E to be a lot less $$ than Tesla once the initial demand is satisfied (Ford dealers will negotiate, but Tesla won't).
  9. Can somebody with a BEV check my math for computing range?

10% buffer seems excessive (this is more than any other manufacturer that I'm aware of) but...if they do, then charging to "100%" is really only charging to 90%, which is fine. So your figures are probably too conservative.
  10. The truth about Electrify America's progress and Traveling with the Mach E

EA touts their "progress" of installing a lot of chargers in a short amount of time. As you might expect, there are problems with that approach. Check out this thread for real world experiences: https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/electrify-america-experiences.34854/#post-533370
  11. Charging EVs

General consensus is to charge up to 80-90% when you get home from work. In general don't let your battery run down below 5-10%. This will double or triple the life of your battery, like maybe up to 500,000 miles. If you routinely charge to 100% and run it down low, maybe you get 100,000...
  12. Mustang Mach E is a Gamechanger - Here is Why (vs TESLA)

Sure, as long as you're not preventing people from charging when they actually need it. But that's not the reason for ABC as I explained above.
  13. Mustang Mach E is a Gamechanger - Here is Why (vs TESLA)

Coming in a little late here, but the ABC rule is "there" to condition your battery before you start a trip. Like ABC overnight at your house, so your battery is conditioned before you go to work the next morning. ABC does not mean you have to charge for 5-10 minutes every time you stop to get...
  14. Mach-E Inefficiency a...good thing?

@Badgeringweasel: "I know throughout the years Telsa has been able to increase the range of their vehicles simply through software updates." Well, the range was there to begin with. Tesla just unlocked it with a software update. I guess that's what you meant?
