Ford sends mass Mach-E delivery delay emails [Updated with Ford's response]

Yes, I can imagine that is a let down. I have a feeling that Ford is being conservative and you won't actually have to wait that long.

What are you gonna name yours?

I am hoping that you can change the wakeup word from "Hey Ford". I want to go Samuel L Jackson on it: "Hey M* it's cold in here, turn on the heat!"

    Positives from the delay?

NO the intent was not to place speculation here but rather to make lemonade from lemons NO the delay has nothing to do with the NHTSA crash test data NO Ford didn't "forget" to do some critical paperwork As for lemonade: absolutely I prefer Ford did it right the first time, which is why the...

Has anybody in this forum received their Mach E yet????

Hmm, you're probably right about that. I was thinking that cautitlan was the place with the expertise to fix them, but maybe that isn't a correct assumption. In either case, the 6-8 weeks delay many are seeing has to mean that the cars are going somewhere other than dealerships to get fixed.

Ford sends mass Mach-E delivery delay emails [Updated with Ford's response]

It probably depends very much on what has to be fixed, and how accessible it is. If it's something easily replaced like a mirror, sure that won't stop them from building the cars. But, if it's something that isn't readily accessible they aren't going to want to take a bunch of stuff apart and...

Has anybody in this forum received their Mach E yet????

No, this is clearly a car issue and not a delivery issue - unless the teamsters just went on strike nationwide (which AFAIK they didn't). This has to be an issue of some kind with the car itself. My guess is that your cars in KC are going back to cuatitlan for a repair, and then will have to be...

Ford sends mass Mach-E delivery delay emails [Updated with Ford's response]

No, if it is a defective part then they won't build your car until they have a correct part. If it is software then they'll build your car anyway, but won't ship until the fixed software is available and installed.

Ford sends mass Mach-E delivery delay emails [Updated with Ford's response]

You consider march 2021 to be 9 months late? The original schedule for the initial deliveries of premiums and first editions was Winter of 2020/2021 - BEFORE covid-19. Winter ends march 21st.

Ford sends mass Mach-E delivery delay emails [Updated with Ford's response]

No, they are not going to delay delivering $75m worth of inventory over an order processing snafu. They're selling through dealers who can photocopy forms to fill out if necessary.

Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

As might Ford; this clearly is a recent development. It also cannot go unnoticed so they'll have to say something.
