As an update for others, you can thread an M5 eye socket hook on these these two bolts. Using the bottom of the rear seat frame which has a hole you can then ratchet a tire between the two.

Not at all. However you can put the spare in with the styrofoam still in place, but it lifted the trunk floor even higher. Some have trimmed some of the styrofoam allowing the tire to sit flat, so thats another option.
