What would make you cancel your Mach-E reservation and buy something else?

At this point, only 3 things would turn me off: the battery performance doesn't measure up, their pricing goes up, or the residual on the 4 year lease is unreasonable. I REALLY want to be able to keep my convertible pony (paid off just in time next February), and the only way (my wife says) I can afford the payments + additional insurance is do the 4 year lease. Actually, I like the lease being any easy out anyway in case the battery performance starts to fall off faster than it should or there are other major problems with the car. If all is well in 4 years I'll go ahead and buy it out even though it will be more money in the long run.

Until the Mach-E was announced I would probably have bought a Bolt or leased a model 3. Neither of those options is overly appealing, frankly

Lots of things would make me pull out, since I wouldn't be spending 55 grand without nearly everything being to my liking. But some that come to mind...

- Driver's seat sitting too low to the ground (won't know for sure until I actually get to sit in one)
- Range coming in well below what they're projecting
- Not being able to get one before the $7500 federal tax credit runs out/down
- Another BEV SUV being announced than I like better
- Too many bugs... not a smooth ride... not a quiet ride...
- Dealers jacking the price up above MSRP or adding any extra fees beyond the reasonable norm

i had a reservation on the volvo x40 recharge but canceled it....the range just seemed too low for the occasional LA to SF road trip we do, and compared to the competition.
I hadn't seen that one. I just looked. I really like the looks of that vehicle. More SUV-like than the Mach-e. I'll have to check that out in more detail.

Reserved 1st Edition.
Plan on using X plan.

1. MSRP is much more than ~$60k
2. Range comes in at less 250 miles
3. Delivery delayed into 2021 and loss of full tax credit. My reason for reserving 1st Edition.
4. Wife changes mind. Mmm? Maybe that should be #1

All of you having to check with your wives...one of the advantages of being a single dude is I can do what I want. (Of course there are advantages to not being single also)

The only thing that could make me cancel my reservation if something coming out I like more. I've been following the ID.4 for a long time. Loved the concept version...have only seen a camo of the production version. So we'll see.

Yeah, there are advantages to being married... at least that's what the wife tells me

ID.4 has been spotted a few times since Thanksgiving with fake badging. It looks pretty boring so far in the looks department. Maybe its range, acceleration and charging capabilities will make it more compelling. It's rumored to max out at 125kW charging but with 10->80% charging in 30mins.

Wow...that ID.4 is so disappointing! The ID Crozz concept was great. Can't believe they toned it down to such a boring car. So the Mach E is still in first place with me.

I was too keeping an eye on the ID4 and disappointed that they didn’t stick to the concept car shape - now more of a wagon or elongated ID3. Interior-wise, if the ID3 is a preview of the ID4 then the Mustang wins. The ID3 is having some production issues (software, LR 1st Edition limited to only 4 passengers) so I’m afraid some of those will affect the ID4.
Keeping on the theme of the thread - any proposed ADMs will most likely make me walk away and wait and I might be tempted to then lease a Tesla Model Y.

  1. I’ve they can’t deliver the first edition this year.
  2. When the range is less than 450km with the large accupack and AWD.
  3. When they not give a good price back for The van I bought last year.

I put in reservation on a whim. I am not sold on pure EVs yet because of the range limits. The trips that we would take are all longer than 400 to 500 a day. I want to see one and test drive before committing to buy, as others have said.

Over Black Friday weekend, Hyundai had a crazy 3yr lease deal of like $2500 down and $109/mo for the 2019 Ioniq Electric.

If something like that popped up again and was available to me, I'd take it and drop my Mach-E reservation.

What would make me cancel my MACH e reservation?
1. If the charging stations they use charge more that Tesla, ie more than $.28 per kWhr. Or if Ford refused to say how much the charge costs will be.
2..If the dealer I chose plays games with last minute add-on stuff for extra money, or attaches a front license plate mount against my explicit wishes, or is otherwise dishonest with me.
3. If they refuse me a test drive before payment.

Note that #2 and #3 could likely be circumvented by simply changing to a different dealer, but that could cause uncomfortable delay in delivery.
