What an a-hole you are for following her to see where she parked... [sarcasm font]

Bought a new car in 1981. Told my wife how to park. She went to the store (happened to be next to our apartment complex), and parked. I walked up and she was parked in with all the other cars.

I calmly (not) conveyed the lesson.

We are still married 40+ years later. 🤣

Apparebtly I “conveyed” the request so assertively and repeatedly that she proactively sent me that picture to cover her own butt. Didn’t even have to follow her for an “audit” 😂

We took that brand new 1981 Chevrolet Malibu Classic on a trip, with my sister driving her car (my wife and I in one car, my sister and mother in the other). I said to my sister - this is a brand new car. It is very windy out. Park no where near me when we stop for gas/bathroom.

At the first stop, she pulled up next to me, opened the door, wind pulled it out of her hand, and it lodged in the top of my wheel well, crushing the shiny molding and denting the fender. I calm ripped her a new one at the top of my voice.

Not just to protect our cars, but we've been doing this for decades. Never understood the people the back in/out trying to squeeze into a spot up close to the door when 4 spots down they could have whipped in and parked however they wanted.

Sorta these days we also think let's park as far away from a door and enjoy the walk in before we can't. ;)

I parked far, far away from the store entrance where there were absolutely no cars. I came out of the store and found that a shiny red Corvette had parked beside me. Guess they knew it was safe.🤷🏽‍♀️

I told my wife if she wants to drive the MME she needs to “park far away from others.”

She follows directions well.

Your wife is smart, this is how I park places too. I’m kinda paranoid since these cars are still so rare, not sure if parking far from others is better or being around more people in case someone tries something

LOL. I try to park far away from everyone. Last weekend my wife got annoyed with me because of how far I was from the stores we were going to. 🤷🏿‍♂️ I won't change.
Yeah, I think it’s better to get the steps in anyways haha

If there’s another MME you know damn well I will park next to it. Goes for other EVs too, don’t know what it is, it just seems like the proper thing to do
There definitely is something to be said for sticking with your herd.

Honestly if I see a nice car parked farther away I’m likely to park next to it because I know they care for their car and are not going to ding my door.

Conversely I don’t park in the middle of nowhere. First, I feel I makes you a target. Second, it’s more space for a runaway shopping cart to gain speed before hitting me. Same reason I also park uphill if possible 😄

Pro tip: Park as far out as possible and in a corner spot, not out in the middle with open spots on either side. Also, park as close to the curb as possible without scuffing wheels.

Never take up 2 spaces because then you’ve just marked yourself.
