the 12V is at 6V this morning

That is DEAD.

do not even TRY to turn on the vehicle until you charge the 12v overnight ... You MUST get that 12v up to full charge before you attempt to turn on anything else.

- access Frunk, using the external jump points in the front bumper if needed
- remove rear and drivers side Frunk beauty covers
- hook up a charger to 12v connection points for a good overnight charge, or a running vehicle for at least a hour to see if that battery will hold a charge BEFORE you attempt to turn on, shift to 'tow mode', or move the vehicle.

- worst case emergency, drop a full size 12v battery in the frunk, and jumper to connection points to provide power the 12v system for towing so you can get in/out of tow mode.

I parked my new 2022 Mustang Mach GT so I could grab lunch, was in the restaurant for 20 minutes. Come back out to leave and the car wont start. The speedometer readout screen says "Stop Safely Now" can't move the car out of park. Stuck now. Battery is at 84%. It's only like 75 degrees outside. Only have 2869 miles and only had like 3 weeks! Someone help!

in addition to individual help to push this along..... I'm sure the group would LOVE a 'press release' or some kind of update from Ford as to what percentage of MME have reported 'stop safely now' problems up to and including resulting in HVBJB replacements.

Is there any indication from Engineering autopsies on what the root cause of failures have been? Any actions that Owners can either do, or avoid, to prevent problems?

It is nerve racking, and not confidence inspiring, to read about new occurrences of battery problems resulting in bricked cars, stranding people, and length delays in repair. We would all appreciate some summary of how many vehicles this has affected thus far, and what general solutions are being considered. Without actual data, there will be increasing wild speculation, and growing lack of confidence in reliability.

I have a 12v cig plug usb charger that displays voltage. Would it be a good idea to plug that in and check voltage every once and a while?

And I think I am going to drill those holes in the frunk cover for access to 12v jump points. Oh man. What a pita to be a beta tester!

I'm confused, what good is a PR department of they don't do anything? Eliminate the PR department and instead invest in better battery tech.

My 22 MUSTANG MACH E was purchased at Sunrise Ford In Fontana CA

It broke down in Orange CA and was towed to the closest Ford dealership. Villa Ford Of Orange CA. My service manager is Glen. +17142825214. They were able to get me a rental car. The 12V battery is dead on the mustang

how long did it take to get the parts?
I live in SE Michigan, so the parts are easy to come by since we're close to Ford HQ. It took them a day to get the first HVBJB and another day to get the second replacement when the first one failed.

do you happen to know whether or not they put your 12vb on a charger before the first, or second replacement?

I'm asking just on the off chance that a dead or very low 12v never 'started' the computer system correctly, and failed either sequencing contactor pre-charge correctly or failed to hold the contacts, and that was what blew the second HVBJB out basically as soon as they turned it on.

Had the exact same problem with my 2021 GT PE on 5/5/22.

"Stop Safely Now" display and locked in Park when I first turned on the vehicle in the parking lot. Battery symbol and vehicle symbol with explanation point displayed in the center console.

Tried all the usual tricks (waited, disconnected the 12 V battery, etc.) to no avail. 12 V battery was OK and the HV battery was at 82%.

Had to be towed to a local Ford dealer for evaluation. Still waiting for reply.

Not a charger issue, the vehicle was not charging. I hope that this Ford dealer knows what to look for...

12.6 VOLTS. All the accessories were functional (tailgate, etc.), and I tried giving it a "jump" with an external battery pack.

Dang. Mine is still at the dealer. I can see that they charged or are charging the battery right now because my app is saying 14V. Waiting for the dealer to call me.

12.6 should have been plenty to fire up, close contactors, and turn on the computers.... but if it STAYED at 12.6, that is a clear indication that the HV system never woke up the dc-dc; that would have brought the 12v system up to 14.5v or so.

hhhhmmmmmm.......

My car never had a 12V battery issue. It was the HV system that flaked out each time.

And this thread probably confirms that the 2022 model also has the same issue with the High Voltage Junction Box as the 2021s...

You have to put your car in Emergency Tow mode in the Vehicle settings menu, before the 12v battery is totally drained and the screens die. Also search this thread for towing instructions to make sure the tow guy won't rip the battery.
This is very important information and I couldn't have said it better myself from experience with the same issue. This needs to be pinned.
