warranty is 3 years/36k miles except for the battery is 8 years/100k miles.

Interior only comes in the black. No leather, either. Itā€™s some type of synthetic stuff. I believe there is a more premium (non leather) material that is perforated and has colored stitching as an option on some trim levels.
I was pretty sure I saw some of the external colors had the option of a light grey color before they took the webpage down.

The advantage of this car is primarily the tax incentives. My guess is half of the sales will be in California which will yield a $10K income tax reduction fed+state at the time the income taxes are paid, not at the time off vehicle purchase.
I work for a living so Iā€™m not a big fan of the government picking winners in the market space with tax incentives that ultimately just produce price creep, like everything else the government touches.

Edit: Do you think Ford/Tesla figured the tax incentive into their pricing calculation? Of course they did; they even put the incentive on their websites next to the pricing. Much of that incentive is just gravy for the manufacturer, coming out of pockets of those whom donā€™t even get the car.

You should make your license plate say something like, ā€œThanks, Everybody.ā€

A deal is a deal. That's life. If Ford can sell a car for less money because of the incentives then good fort them. The idea is to build manufacturing capability so economies of scale will make it cost effective to produce. It's like priming a pump, once it gets started it gets easier.

Yes, ā€œlifeā€ is when a base model Ford costs $50k. Okayyyy.

The Select is $43K so after incentives it's $33K in California. I doubt Tesla or GM can reduce their prices by that much. They have already accrued their incentives. The only thing they have going for them now is ZEV credits, which Ford will get also.

Have you looked at the prices for new cars? They're all expensive.

I like to think that the tax incentive is a small price to pay for us paying less overall later when we have better, renewable energy, and a cleaner environment. I'm willing to pay a bit more if it sways more people to go electric and make sure my kids have a planet to grow up and be healthy on. No harsh feelings or ill will, I know the tax incentive is only temporary. So hopefully it'll sway the right people who wouldn't otherwise consider it.

I have looked at the prices of new cars. We bought a new Lexus SUV for the wife last December, and it wasnā€™t cheap.

Even if you look at Fordā€™s own lineup, there are plenty of other vehicles with much, much nicer offerings at $50k. I guess at that point, it comes down to how bad you want a [Ford] EV and how much youā€™re willing to sacrifice to get in one.

For me, at that price point, Iā€™m going to get something actually worth the money (and not foist even more price creep on my fellow Americans).

The specs changed a lot of times probably as the page no doubt started with place holder information that was updated The premium had the option of Light Space Grey or Black Onyx with the perforated AcitveX seating material all the others it was black Onyx in either ActiveX or perforated ActiveX with the GT having the option of a Unique Miki Perforated Reflective insert.

Not long till we find out what was place holder and what was real, still expect the typical where if you want the light interior you won't have the choice of exterior color you want and vice versa

I never thought I'd ever consider a Ford again (after the horrible 1992 Ford Explorer that we had), but I'm now seriously considering a Ford because of the Mach-E. I'm seriously considering buying my first BEV in 2021, and by that time the Mach-E and several other interesting new BEV models should be on the market. I'm very thankful for the federal and state incentives to help buy BEVs and PHEVs, and I think this is good thinking by the government -- a much wiser use of money than much other government spending, really. The world is moving away from ICEVs toward BEVs, and the faster we get there, the better for the world and all who live in it; those who fight the BEV revolution will be left behind.

No one is ā€œfightingā€ against the EV ā€œrevolution.ā€

The only revolution going on is you getting swindled, in a different way. Iā€™m always amazed at how eagerly people want ā€œfreeā€ stuff from their government.

The auto companies are out to make as much profit as they can and Ford is not the only one. Have you priced a Jeep for example wow talk about over priced.

Just got some top secret information. Reports say that all information that was leaked was in some way "on purpose". The numbers are not exact and will for sure be higher when revealed 11/18/19 in LA. You heard it here first. The range will most definitely be ~370 miles. Four doors aswell, be excited Ford fans, this will blow the Tesla model Y away.

If true this is fantastic news I was a little disappointed in the range.
