Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

Very few dealerships up here have their own body shops. None of the ones I contacted, including my local dealership, has one. I would guess that 95% of the dealerships up here, regardless of brand, do not have their own in house body shops.

Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

I can tell you this, I contacted 2 other dealerships besides my local dealership and they all said the same thing. We can do them right now because we can't find anyone willing to do the work. They all said we are waiting for Ford to provide them answers on what's next.

Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

Their is also a recall for the roof. That is what the glass shops are hesitant about.

Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

They did. Then when the glass company actually seen the vehicle, they said they couldn't do it.

Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

I think you are either missing the point. I called the dealership, they called me back when THEY found a shop to do the work. Obviously, the glass shop was not up to the task so they sent the car back to the dealership. As did 4 other glass shops. (for both windshield and windscreen recalls)...

Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

I actually did call the dealership. They informed me that they needed to find time to find a glass shop to do the work. After a week, they called me back and said they had found the shop to do the work. I guess that didn't work out. It's not just the recalls that are starting to really annoy...

Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

All, just a follow up to this. My dealership has had my car since Monday. They have tried 5 glass shops to do the recall work. All 5, after seeing the work to be done, declined to do the work. My local dealership said they are not set up to complete the work and they will have to expand their...

PaaK issues possible resolution with update. All trims / models.

Folks, I had a Ford C-Max when it first came out. Navigation on it never worked right. It would always show you off the road. They updated it many time to no avail. My local dealership had Ford send an engineer out from Dearborn to work on the vehicle. He didn't have any luck either but they did...

PaaK issues possible resolution with update. All trims / models.

You actually ran my VIN yesterday. :-) Lot's of updates according to Ford that still needs to be done. But, I am at 1.7 for power up now.

PaaK issues possible resolution with update. All trims / models.

Well, it was good while it lasted. As I reported in another post, my PaaK was working perfectly after it was updated. It did this for 3 days. Then yesterday, I got the dreaded "No key detected" message. As usual, the car drove just fine after I cancelled the alert. I really had high hopes about...

PaaK issues possible resolution with update. All trims / models.

I had this done at a dealership yesterday. And I can confirm that PaaK works a lot better. It worked every time I went someplace yesterday and had no "key not found" warnings. I to noticed that the car would recognize me at a much further distance and if it had been sitting for awhile, I would...

The saga of the punctured tire and the cost of getting a new one(s)

From what I have learned, this is a "feature" of almost all Ford's. There is no fix for it. And one user here on the forum even took the time to look it up in the manual and it says that sunlight, bugs and other factors may trigger this and to not turn on Auto Rain Sensing Wipers unless in wet...

The saga of the punctured tire and the cost of getting a new one(s)

I disagree, it's not the way it was designed. Rain sensing wipers imply that they come on when it's raining. Not when it's a beautiful sunny day and has been dry outside for 2 months.

The saga of the punctured tire and the cost of getting a new one(s)

There is no price point, things should work, period. But the fact remains that the more you pay for a car, and my Mach E was only about $10k less than an e-tron, the more you expect them to work as designed and as purchased. Would you be more upset if you spent $9k on a Smart ForTwo vehicle...

The saga of the punctured tire and the cost of getting a new one(s)

No, this happens not when I start the car, but after I have traveled multiple miles. And if I make a stop, the process starts all over again. And if the windshield is buggy, the windshield becomes a mess. And yes, I do turn the auto rain sensor function off. But, the fact remains it should work...

The saga of the punctured tire and the cost of getting a new one(s)

The point is when you pay $60k for a vehicle, things should work, period. Now, I understand this is a new platform and there will be bugs. Since I had one of the first deliveries of the vehicle, I have had more than most. But, in my opinion, after 8 months of trying to get things fixed, the...

The saga of the punctured tire and the cost of getting a new one(s)

Here is the thing, I have had Audi's, BWM's, Lexus and an Acura with Rain Sensing Wipers. None of them have had this issue. So I can't buy into this is normal.

The saga of the punctured tire and the cost of getting a new one(s)

All, I really appreciate the comments thus far on this saga yesterday. Regarding online tire purchases, I have not confirmed whether or not either online store front actually has them in stock or not and don't know if I will. But, I will say that if your car is going to be VOR, you can't wait...

The saga of the punctured tire and the cost of getting a new one(s)

Tire Rack is all well and good if you can wait for the tires. But if you're VOR, you can't wait.
