  1. A Tesla Owner Walks Into The Mach-E Forum...

My two door down neighbor has had his Model Y for 3 months now. I told him I was getting a Mach E. Overall he is happy with his Y. He did make one condescending comment. His observation was - “ It’s like buying 2030 technology with 1980 quality”. We both laughed and got a beer.
  2. What's the Reason for the Delay?!

    Missing spare tire.
  3. I can hear the “not a Corvette” crowd already

Darn...I was hoping for a Camero E. Even a SS version. Oh well.
  4. Ford sends mass Mach-E delivery delay emails [Updated with Ford's response]

..and here is my guess... https://evbite.com/fords-mustang-mach-e-online-portal-delayed/
  5. Another Mach-E delivery in Texas!

I smell something fishy. I suspect these were the dealer demos that the dealer just sold way above MSRP. Between the reference of the heritage GT, ($500K plus) and their other Shelby's they were throwing down some big Texas money. It's good when you can do it.
  6. Build Date Overdue and No Updates

The good news here is that no news is good news. It also points out a Paradigm shift in the way all manufactures will deliver cars in the future. The sales person, (dealer) perspective of “Sell what you got on the lot” will quickly fade. Dealers will go kicking and screaming to hold on to out...
  7. Dealership Keeps Refusing to Enroll in Program that Provides $1500 Grant (Los Angeles/Pasadena)

I had my original dealer cancel my original order for a Mach E. I have placed an order with another dealer. The main reason was that the original dealer was not going to participate in any of the current state rebate programs. My closing line in the email to the dealer was on why I canceled...
  8. Dealership Keeps Refusing to Enroll in Program that Provides $1500 Grant (Los Angeles/Pasadena)

I'm going to respectfully disagree with that solution. If ford wants to be a BEV player they need to put pressure on all of the BEV dealers to participate in all rebate and grant programs. Ford needs to start asking themselves "What would Tesla do".
  9. Dealership Keeps Refusing to Enroll in Program that Provides $1500 Grant (Los Angeles/Pasadena)

I had my original order with Rio Vista Ford and they had said that they would not participate in ANY programs at all. Their excuse was basically "why would be put out X amount of money and wait to get paid. I switched , (re ordered) to Fremont Ford because they do both of the programs I'm...
  10. Stupid questions from EV newbie

Im ready to take a shot: Question 1 - You can “warm up” the interior of the car. Here in Northwest Montana I will leave the car plugged in overnight and start it and get the inside warn when my wife complained that it’s too cold to go anywhere. Question 2 No Question 3 Good luck with this...
  11. Make sure that your dealer is participating in any rebate or grant programs in your state

Not really…. I’ll take out whatever I need to to get the $7500 credit. It's the equivalent of a IRA withdrawal with no tax consequences. Had I done it this year I would have to pay 24% on any IRA withdrawal. My wife and I have duel social security income last year that came to $44K. As far...
  12. AWD vs RWD in the South

Its just my commuter car here in Nor Cal. so RWD is all I need.
  13. Make sure that your dealer is participating in any rebate or grant programs in your state

Not totally true. I can use both, you just have to know how. The income based one will be based on my last years tax return (2020). My income is set up so that I only report my Social security income. Way under the 68K for a couple, (PS get a good financial adviser). At the end of 2021 I take...
  14. California state EV programs

I did and got a "go pound sand" response from my original dealer. I switched dealers and now with Fremont Ford in nor cal. They are on both of the programs I qualify for.
  15. Model Y with STD range and 7 seaters is finally out

I think we need to realize just how much charging is done in other location than our homes. I live in a development that has charging outlets installed in our garages. Of all of the current Tesla and other EV owners I know vey few, (if any), rely on an external charging station. The majority...
  16. TFL's Love and Hate list of Mach-E after a week of driving

Did anyone else get motion sickness during the video? Could be that I'm just old. Still great job. Still getting a Mach E. My home will be my charging station for my new commuter car.
  17. Have you ever owned a Mustang

My MME will be number 7. 1966 Fastback 1974 Mustang II 1996 SVT Cobra (Mystic) 2004 SVT Cobra 2007 GT500 2019 GT w/auto
  18. Dealer asking for $2000 more....

Still so not true...the dealers will charge what the market will be willing to pay. There are dealers who have additional make up over MSRP even on the ford web site. If you look at your order on the website under "pricing summary" there is a line item called "difference from total MSRP"...
