  1. Update on Mach-E launch progress from engineering friends in Mexico

Let's hope. My car had an original ETA End Date of 2/11. It moved forward to 1/28. Then I received the email that the new date became 3/25 ... and it still is 3/25 as I check it now.
  2. Preparing for Mach-E charging at home - preparation and installing charger

Correct. I went through this in my garage and had wiring done for both garage bays using 6 gauge wire (designed to handle 60 amps) ... and there are four wires in the cable (to support all four wires of NEMA 14-50). In reality, most hard-wired chargers just use 3 wires ... the two legs of 240v...
  3. Ford sends mass Mach-E delivery delay emails [Updated with Ford's response]

Mine as well... car is in Speedway Kansas with delivery expected around 1/28. Just got email that the new delivery is 3/19-3/25. What??? I've emailed the dealer to contact the Ford zone rep for an explanation. Either (a) somebody screwed up and the mass emails were sent in error or (b) there...
  4. Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

My working hypothesis is that the "StopShip" just means it is parked in a lot awaiting the next segment of transport.
  5. Has anybody in this forum received their Mach E yet????

No... what this is saying is that at some point in the future the car will be in New Castle... at which point Jack Cooper / North American Auto Transportation will pick up the car, load it onto a car carrier and take it ... somewhere else (because your destination field is blank) and it is...
  6. Has anybody in this forum received their Mach E yet????

Or possibly it only covers the delivers going through Kansas City. Palsapp is Jack Cooper / North American Auto Transportation. It will only show up if they are the car carrier moving the car.
  7. Why the Mustang Mach E is better than the Tesla Model Y

It sounds like a write failure. Flash storage has a limited number of "writes" based on how the technology works. Each "write" is fractionally destructive to the chip. "Reads" are free... you can read from flash memory an unlimited number of times with no degradation ... it's "writes" that...
  8. Has anybody in this forum received their Mach E yet????

My understanding of this is that they want the auto-rack cars and car carriers to be "full" as they head to their destinations. This means they load as many retail orders as they can ... and then they'll have a few slots leftover. Those slots get filled with FCTP cars. So FCTP cars don't...
  9. Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

Good question! Answer is... I don't know. I phoned my dealer but he left early today. I'll have to try to reach him tomorrow.
  10. Third-party mobile chargers now under $200!

These sub-$200 are probably not targeted toward owners of BEV cars. They are more practical for PHEV cars with small batteries. For example, a Ford C-Max Energi only has a 7.6 kWh battery ... vs. a Mach-E extended range 98.8 kwH battery (with 88 usable). These are 120v chargers at 16 amps...
  11. Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

Palsapp.com says my car was among them... it has already been moved and is now sitting in the "Speedway" BNSF rail yard.
  12. Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

Keep in mind that Palsapp (Jack Cooper / North American Auto Transportation) is the trucking company. The car would be on the train from Mexico City to Kansas City. Once it arrives, they pick up the car from there and move it to... it's next step (whatever that is). I would not expect...
  13. Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

The tunnel between the US and Canada is between Port Huron (in Michigan) and Sarnia (in Ontario). This is the tunnel (on the Canadian side of the river). The smaller tunnel on the left is the original tunnel (no longer used). It isn't tall enough for modern trains and rail cars. The tunnel...
  14. Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

I'm trying to understand how to interpret this. Is this a bunch of cars that arrived via one railroad yard, being transported by car-carrier to a different rail-yard for transport via another rail-carrier?
  15. TFL's Love and Hate list of Mach-E after a week of driving

I have a hunch the car may be pre-warming the battery before starting the charge. This because I've read the car can start a charge as low as -14°F ... and batteries don't like that unless they are warmed -- and he is testing it in the winter.
  16. Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

Which web browser are you using to track status? A while back I discovered some browser-specific issues where status wouldn't come out right unless I viewed it using Chrome. I *think* they may have fixed those issues... but if you are using something other than Chrome, I'd try Chrome to see if...
  17. Charging Etiquette

Actually a 5 hr charge would be fine. Most office chargers are going to be Level 2 chargers. While these are 240 volt, they are rarely 48 amp chargers (the max the car would use) ... I find most are 30 amp or less. 30 x 240 = 7.2 kilowatts per hour I'm looking at my AWD model and it is...
  18. Update on Mach-E launch progress from engineering friends in Mexico

I've seen some charge stations that "motivate" owners to unplug and move the car... once charging is complete, they offer a grace period (e.g. 10 minutes) after which they start charging a per-minute fee for having a non-charging car still plugged in at the EV charger.
  19. Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

My car also had its delivery pulled ahead by 2 weeks. Was Feb 11 but now showing Jan 28. My dealer checked the car and while the Primary Status shows it in Transit he was able to track it and say the car has not actually left Mexico yet. But he cautioned me that the status can lag behind by...
  20. Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent

My dealer was able to see the secondary status. There is typically a person at the dealer who orders and manages the inventory. It may be that your particular salesperson is not familiar the process, but the dealer inventory manager is. My dealer had some confusion regarding how to convert...
