Just circling back on this for anyone who cares: I haven't tested Android Auto, but within Carplay it seems that only Apple Maps has the integration that shows upcoming turns in the cluster, and, as stated above it's buggy and might leave you taking a wrong turn. I tested Google Maps and Waze...
Yeah, I agree. The full cover looks a little too plump and not very OEM. I wasn't expecting this.
The partial cover looks more OEM. Even though I'm not a fan of the piano black interior ring, it still does match a couple of other MME interior details.
I spent some time looking for a soft-sided cooler bag that would fit well, and never really found one that looked like a good fit. I was temped to order this one and give it a try: https://tesloid.com/product/model-y-frunk-cooler-food-bag/
Even though the Model Y and MME have similar general...
Thank you! That's the feedback I was looking for. I agree that with simple (or familiar) intersections it's easy to spot the bug. For complex intersections it is more of a problem. I guess the sad part is that it renders this really cool integration with the cluster.....almost useless. It's nice...
Yeah, usually you can see the IE LEDs in the photos. Earlier in this ride I was using hands-free BlueCruise, so I know they work. Maybe they turn off if/when you turn off a BlueCruise session?
When I took this photo I do not believe BlueCruise was on. This was just normal navigation with no...
I love that Carplay with Apple Maps is integrated well enough to show the next turn in the cluster. But there's a location that I drive commonly where the next upcoming turn on the cluster is just wrong, inconsistent with the Carplay main screen routing. I'm trying to understand if this is a bug...
Regarding Alexa, you can remove that aggravating little icon by registering for it (ironically) and then turning it off. No idea if registering has any other impact, but I was supremely annoyed by that icon.
I, for one, and disappointed that the software engineering team is spending cycles on...
"The sea was angry that day, my friends....."
The install was tight and awkward, but I'm happy with it! I followed the steps and advice here and took my time with it (probably 2+ hours). To get a little more room to work with I lifted the rear a couple inches by driving onto some thick boards...
I got a chip in mine on day 6. I don’t even think anyone was in front of me (but I was on the highway). Must have been something kicked up from a lane to the side. In any case, it seems a little strange. I feel like I’ve noticed a few of these threads.
Wow, that is so cool! I tend to agree with Mark that the bottom design might be better. It would result in a simpler full-metal knob (in appearance), which IMHO would have a more premium look compared to a metal outer ring with a piano-black plastic inner. That said, either design would be a big...
Thank you! This is hugely helpful, and I'm going to give it a shot.
By the way, I think the OP has a different hitch than ours, or maybe it's been redesigned since. Just comparing the photos in OP's post #13 with your photos in post #26. His hitch has two hitch pin holes, and a backing plate...
I have the Draw-tite ready to install, and I've read the instructions and everyone's very helpful information here. Just quick question: Is it really possible to install this without lifting the car? Did you do it all from the sides? The standard ground clearance is pretty tight, but maybe it's...
I'd love to know this as well. My hitch just arrived and I''m hoping to install it tomorrow. The OP's writeup was quite detailed, and I implied from it that no extra clips were needed?
I had an interesting Bluecruise experience yesterday. I drove my son about 25 miles down the highway to a soccer practice at 5:30pm. It was sunny with a significant amount of fast-moving traffic. I tried Bluecruise and found the same behavior that I've had in the several previous Bluecruise...
