  1. EU Mach-E detects roadway construction, but not in the U.S.?

The adaptive speed control does pick up lower speed limit signs used in construction zones. Construction ahead signs may be miles ahead of the actual construction site, so may not justify slowing you down.
  2. Electrify America will install ultrafast EV chargers at over 25 IKEA US locations

Apparently, EA needs to read some of those state DOT NEVI plans, we were discussing the last couple of weeks. I know the Indiana Plan reports that most people filling out their surveys, participating in their meetings, or sending in comments, wanted to see amenities at their DCFC locations...
  3. Yes, Virginia, charging is different depending on where you live

Indiana has only 5 DCFC's charging faster than 100 kw. All located to serve interstate travelers. Hopefully, this will change in the coming years as the new Bi-Partisan Infrastructure Law kicks in.
  4. All 50 states have submitted EV charger plans

My comments, on the Indiana Plan, were to emphasis providing amenities, like we see at gas stations. Stuff like trash cans, toilets, food and security for late night charging. The response was my comments were similar to the comments they were receiving from most everyone else. I also...
  5. State Charging Infrastructure Plans

This is the link to the Indiana Plan: https://www.in.gov/indot/current-programs/innovative-programs/electric-vehicle-charging-infrastructure-network/
  6. Current Mach-E production rate = 2,000 per week. Ramps up to 4,000/week next year.

I thought that the Lightning was built in Michigan at the Rouge River Plant.
  7. Draft INDOT EV Deployment Plan

There is free Level 2 service in Kokomo in the 2 downtown parking garages. They should show up in Plugshare.com. They may not help much for long distance travel. On the other hand, it would give you an opportunity to visit downtown Kokomo and try out one of our restaurants. Hopefully, the...
  8. Help me see the pony (puddle lights)

When you shut down your car, it asks if it should shut down the security system. If you say "Yes", it will shut down and not wake up when you approach the car with your key fob. You need to open the door to wake it. If you say "No", it will stay partially awake and greet you by turning on...
  9. 🔥 PSA: AVOID 14-50 extensions! What you need to know.

Or, you might look at a ChargifyEV charger. It has a 3 ft. cord and built in GFCI protection. This assumes they have received the parts from overseas to make more units.
  10. New here - looking for advice on what to order

There is a configuration tool at the Ford website. Just start an order to see what you can get for what kind of money. You might even consider a base Select. You still get a great car at less cost. You can go from 50 to 80 in just a couple car lengths. You will still get questions when you...
  11. Anyone having issues with Power Up 2.7.3 download getting delayed?

i had problems with OTA of 2.7.3. Turned out the Mach-E was not connecting to my WiFi. I reconnected the car WiFi to the correct channel, etc. It worked by updating that night. Did not have any trouble with the 2.7.4 update.
  12. Pet Peeve

Could the Mach-E Forum start posting the date of the last response post to the various threads? Too often I find that most recent response to a thread listed on the Latest Threads, etc. is a year or more old. It may interest some but not many others. Or, is there some other existing way to...
  13. How are you managing your charging schedule

I plug in only when my charge is getting low (less than 50%, preferably approaching 20%) or if I plan a trip out of town. Though this last week, my MME started complaining when the charge was around 40% on days with temperatures in the 70s and nights in the 60s. I do not recall see this before...
  14. North Carolina seeks to ban or penalize free charging

It is curious that they propose providing any charging at rest areas. Indiana DOT is not considering rest area charging sites, because Federal regulations, for the funding that built interstate rest areas, forbid providing any competition to commercial gas stations, like we see at toll road...
  15. State DC Fast Charging Planning

We talk about the lack of DC Fast Charging here and there. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, passed last year, appropriated a lot of money to add more DC Fast Charging stations. The State DOT's are preparing their implementation plans now. They need to submit a National Electric Vehicle...
  16. Fancy Wraps

If you look closely at the first photo, and the attached photo, you will notice the exhaust marks from firing his gun. The detail on this thing if fantastic. It includes warnings, rivets and such, along with the company credits for those who wrapped the car. The Mach-E has more aggressive...
  17. Fancy Wraps

While out doing errands, I noticed this White Mustang Mach-E being assaulted by a rapacious, shark mouth, Tesla Model 3. The Model 3's license plate is "Warthog". No doubt a reference to the Air Force Reserve A-10s that used to be based nearby. Can any of you creative folks, dressing up your...
  18. That darn plug door!

You could just make a note card, that you place on the dash or windshield, reminding you to check to see that the charge port is closed when you prepare to charge. Or, you could just start closing the door, just after unplugging, then hang up the charger handle and cable. The charger plug...
  19. OTA 2.7.1 announced today

My daily check of FordPass included messages about successfully installing OTA 2.7.1. The main improvement was for using PAAK for sounding your horn and turning the lights on in your car so you can find it.
  20. Plug and Charge activation

Had a similar problem. When you signed up for your My Ford Vehicle website account, did you use a username or your e-mail. I originally used a username. The website would not allow me to sign up for plug and charge. After several calls to the help line receiving cryptic responses, I realized...
