Ford gives dealers 2 months to accept new rules or stop selling EVs.

Yeah, it can be a lifesaver -- I was transporting my new Bolt from Nashville to Memphis, and the Nissan dealership in between that had an L2 charger really saved my bacon when I knew I'd need 20-30 additional miles to make it home (I think I made it home with about 20 miles to spare!). I sat...

    MME keeps tripping breaker

It was installed last August. A dedicated 240v 50 amp circuit was installed, as well as a new breaker for the charger (I am not sure the size of the breaker). It is a plug-in model. I guess I can call the electrician and see what he says, and dial down the amps in the Wallbox app until then.

    MME keeps tripping breaker

Starting about 2 months ago, my MME seems to trip the breaker for my charger seemingly every time I try to charge. I have to go outside and flip the breaker switch to get it to start charging again. My wife's Kia Niro EV charges without issue, so I am feeling confident the issue is with the MME...

Are dealerships going out of business?

Zillow didn't manufacture a new house and set the (suggested) retail price. Zillow has zero connection to the home and is just one of many websites providing suggested home values. In the video, the guy compares taking offers above the Zillow value of a home to dealer ADM, and the two are just...

Are dealerships going out of business?

His rationale for ADM is ridiculous. "If you're selling your house, and you're getting offers for more than Zillow thinks it's worth, then why wouldn't you take the highest offer?" His analogy has the customer offering more for the car rather than the customer paying more for the car because the...

    $15000 mark up..help!!!

The "return" I am talking about is how much someone who paid MSRP would get for the car versus someone who paid ADM, investment (hell, probably even "return") was probably the wrong term to use. Someone who paid $65k for a $52k Mach-E is not going to be as happy as the MSRP person when it comes...

    $15000 mark up..help!!!

I often wondered how the people who keep paying ADM are going to feel about the return on that investment. You've (figuratively) just lit several thousand dollars on fire just to get the car now. Not my money, and it's fine if you've got it to burn, but definitely sets a bad precedent.

Why is the charge port door so awful?

My wife has a Nissan Leaf as a rental car while her Niro EV is getting body work done, its charging door has to be opened via the key fob or from inside. Seems a bit cheap to not have that door secured on a vehicle that costs almost twice as much.

    Chevy Blazer EV

Same here. Charging speed wasn't a big deal to me, and I enjoyed my Bolt, but it's like the meme where the guy is walking with his girlfriend and his head is turned to watch another woman who just passed them by -- that was me when I saw the Mach-E :) Sorry Bolty, time to upgrade!

    Sunglasses Holder Breaking

That's nuts. My wife's previous car, a Hyundai Kona, had an issue where the sunglasses door would keep opening on its own. They had to replace the entire assembly up there (not just the door) and it was covered. I guess Hyundai has better service than Ford.

    Sunglasses Holder Breaking

Mine is noisy as well. Drove me crazy trying to figure out where the rattling was coming from, and one day a few weeks ago, I pressed my hand on the sunglasses door and the noise stopped ... let go and it started again. Intermittent though.

    SecuriAlert

The delay is such that SecuriAlert is practically useless to me. I parked my car, went into the grocery store, and 5 minutes later got an alert that my door had been opened. After a second of panic I realized it was the alert from when I opened the door. I only even activated it so I'd know the...

Dealer wanted to charge me $1400 for updates!

I said that updates that mention fixing bugs should be covered under warranty, whether or not your car has yet to experience that bug -- not that it should be free (dealer still gets paid). We're in a different world now where software is a way bigger part of a car than it was even 5 years ago...

Dealer wanted to charge me $1400 for updates!

Well, they insert the drive, probably press some buttons on the screen, and then come back a few hours later to press some more buttons on the screen to complete the update. Some folks here think that justifies charging the customer for hours of work. I'd sure love to paint one of their homes...

    Glitches! Glitches! Glitches!

This happened to me a few weeks ago. This solution worked for me: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/help-touch-screen-went-black-solved.3195/ Thank goodness for this forum, I was actually out and about and thinking the half-baked infotainment had just finally crapped out for good. I love...

Dealer wanted to charge me $1400 for updates!

I dunno that I have FOMO if I want things like my profile loading every time I turn the car on, or the backup camera not sticking after I'm already going forward, or the "System Off to save battery" message appearing and sticking for no apparent reason, or the hatch to not just open on its own...

    Glitches! Glitches! Glitches!

The past few days, my user profile doesn't load automatically. It did that for a long time after I bought it, then for the past several months it has always loaded my profile, but now, it's gone back to doing it maybe half the time. Love the car. Infotainment is half-baked still.

Dealer wanted to charge me $1400 for updates!

Don't almost all of these updates include bug fixes? Seems whenever I see a summary of one, you get a line that's something to the effect of "various bug fixes." Seems to me if you could find a summary of the updates and a "bug fix" is mentioned anywhere in there, you could claim it as warranty...

Confidence is eroding on my Mach-E

Well that's kind of an extreme example. The point was it encourages you to remove your hands and trust it will make the right choices. The car suddenly wanting to merge into a truck beside you at 80mph is pretty terrifying, whether you're paying full attention or not. I am not saying you should...

Confidence is eroding on my Mach-E

They do call it "hands-free" though, so I suppose taking your hands off the wheel and having the car try to ram you into the 18-wheeler to your right can be pretty terrifying.
