  1. Tire Rack tests OEM EV tires vs Aftermarket: Michelin and Continental Brands

Hmm. This is disappointing. I bought CC2's for my Pilot in 2020 (I believe it was a pretty new tire at that point) and I just love them for Minnesota winters. The way my 3-month-old AWD MME handles in the snow and ice I've been thinking I should replace the stock tires before next winter so I...
  2. PaaK stopped working about 1 week ago (Android / Pixel 7)

This is EXACTLY where I am. Samsung S22 plus. Although they updated the fordpass app yesterday (4.23.1) so I should try Paak setup again. Yesterday's update at least allows me to access departure times again.
  3. H&R Block Software - missing charger credit form (8911)

https://www.forbes.com/advisor/personal-finance/ev-charger-tax-credit/ The 30% charger credit was extended for 10 years and expires in 2032.
  4. H&R Block Software - missing charger credit form (8911)

Not sure if I should resurrect this old thread or start a new one, but either way I wanted to give a little visibility to the fact that this has not changed for the 2022 tax year. H&R Block tax software does not currently support form 8911. Form 8911 allows you to file for a 30% tax credit (up...
  5. Did you know there's a tax credit for installing a charger and/or wiring?

I looked last night at H&R Block website and saw that they don't support 8911 as of now. I'll be contacting them today to see if we can get that moving. I'd rather not switch to someone else, but I'm not leaving hundreds of dollars on the table.
  6. Did you know there's a tax credit for installing a charger and/or wiring?

Thanks for sharing this. I've used H&R Block software for years now. This is a big bummer.
  7. Departure times in FordPass app not working

Yep, I just noticed I can access departure times in the app now.
  8. Did you know there's a tax credit for installing a charger and/or wiring?

Do any tax experts want to chime in on if I can take this credit on my 2022 taxes or if I have to wait for 2023 taxes? I had the charger installed in December. Paid for the charger in December, electrician work was done in December, but I received the bill from the electrician in 2023 and paid...
  9. Hang Ford Mobile Charger from the 120V cord, or lay on the ground?

Thanks. I forgot you mentioned it charges before it can heat at 120V. My starting charge level of 90% is down to 85% when I get to work, so yeah, I could set it to 85% or so here at work. I know it's not the heaviest box, and that 120 cord does seat in the charger very nicely. But I agree...
  10. What home charger are you happy with?

I have the Emporia charger hardwired in my garage for a month now, and it's been great.
  11. Hang Ford Mobile Charger from the 120V cord, or lay on the ground?

There are a handful of 120V outlets available at my work for EVs. The outlets are on posts roughly 3 feet off the ground. The outlets are unused every day. I was thinking I should plug in at work to try and keep the battery warm as I live in a cold climate. Especially after reading the...
  12. Departure Time Setting on App still Down

Could you please expand on what you mean by saying it was a car issue?
  13. Mach-Lee's Mach-E Cold Weather Testing [Taking Requests]

The other day my car took roughly 45 minutes to precondition in a 29F garage. So this tracks with what I saw.
  14. Departure Time Setting on App still Down

I haven't been able to set departure times in the app for over a week as well. In the past I force stopped the app and then it worked. But even that won't allow me to access/modify departure times now. I'm on Android, Samsung S22 plus.
  15. Are there long-term benefits for preconditioning?

This morning the outside temp was -3F. Garage temp is 29F, and car is in the garage. I had a departure time set and to set the cabin to warm. My Emporia charger used 8.49 kWh in 1 hour and 4 minutes. Edit: I should state I didn't end up driving this morning, so that 1 hour and 4 minutes...
  16. Are there long-term benefits for preconditioning?

I completely agree. But doing something due to common sense isn't always correct - or necessary - which is why I started the topic. Just hoping to learn something on my end.
  17. Are there long-term benefits for preconditioning?

Thanks for the reply. Can you point me to any further reading on this? Ford does not say one word (that I could find) that says preconditioning a cold battery will extend the life of the battery. But I do want to more fully understand why it would/would not have long term benefits - hence the...
  18. Are there long-term benefits for preconditioning?

Ha. Fair enough. But then who is the final authority on a question such as mine? And how do I contact them to ask?
  19. Are there long-term benefits for preconditioning?

Shayne - Thanks for the reply, but that TLC list from Ford does not address what I was asking. Right above number 1... "we wanted to give you a few tips to maximize your range as winter sets in." I was asking about any long-term battery benefits to preconditioning - or long-term detriments...
  20. Are there long-term benefits for preconditioning?

Thanks for the replies. I posed the same question to my dealer and heard back from them just a bit ago... "I did check, and I am told that it will not help the battery long-term, only create a longer range each day, which does not seem to the concern as you do not drive that far."
