Love it! That's pretty awesome.
Next is merch - t-shirts, coffee mugs, mouse mats, trucker hats, bucket hats, water bottles...the possibilities are endless
Was on ford.com today and noticed a big Mach-E banner ad and then driving past the Oakville Assembly Plant tonight saw they had replaced the big F-150 Lightning ad with this:
Nice to see the Mach-E getting a bit of love too...
Also pretty sure that red car on the left is a convertible ICE...
Tons in my neck of the woods...parent is Geely, who also own Volvo...
Polestar was / is Volvo's tuning arm, sorta kinda like AMG, but more. Volvo owned Polestar, then Geely bought Volvo and therefore owns both brands.
Polestar is still Swedish, but the cars are made in China. I would not...
The CNBC article this morning said the same:
"It's unclear if Ford's next-gen EVs will maintain the charging ports featured on current models, known as CCS. A Ford spokesman said the company has "this option available to us but have no news to share today."
The mistake Detroit is making right now is assuming their monstrous ICE SUVs & trucks translate 1:1 to an EV. But they seem to have little choice - F-150 is the best selling vehicle is the US, big SUVs are big sellers, so what, we stop making them? Hells no! We cram a massive battery in it...
And just to add: Lane Keep Assist kicks in (for me at least) automatically above 60kph. I know I'm speeding in a 50 kph zone because I see it come on :)
I think most EV makers are missing the mark on subscription estimates - I hope it doesn't end up like Sirrus-XM or gym memberships..."well, how much *can* you pay?"
The subscription for my Volvo App, which basically lets me remote start / unlock the doors is $200 a year. Not a chance. They need...
From Ford's Investor Day re: Blue Cruise:
"Ford for the 2024 model-year expects to build 500,000 vehicles equipped with the hands-free technology. At an expected take rate of 20%, Field said BlueCruise alone could amount to $200 million in revenue."
Clearly they expect *some* of us to buy-in...
Maybs...but mostly because Tesla, like Apple, has a ton of Fan Boys & Girls who never say anything bad about Uncle Elon. Tesla has *plenty* of customer service issues, like the guy who's steering wheel fell off *while driving*. Got no love from Tesla until it went very public. Then they...
Well at least it's there....
One day Johnny iPhone will wake up (likely too late) and realize compound interest is one of humanity's greatest inventions.
Unless you owe money
Kinda nice to the Mach-E still getting the occasional review - it seems these days if a car is not brand new YouTubers won't give it the time of day. I get why, but things have changed a lot since the MY21 models. Too bad he didn't get to try out BlueCruise.
Don't say that out loud Jim!! Ford is listening!
I *think* what you meant to say is "I find it marginally useful and would be willing to pay no more that $20 a month. Add in a working frunk button and I'd bump that to $21.99..."
