Surprised about the Juicebox recommendations. I have a Juicebox 40 and thankfully noticed the feedback about the new app that they were forcing onto people with several broken features (including critical ones like changing max amperage). Mine still works well on the old version of the app but...
That's the car I would have purchased if I wanted something smaller. Though I think they're going through production cuts and layoffs, so it's hard to know how reliable they'll be as a brand for the long term.
So early next year we should have a Supercharger adapter? Is that in "Ford years"? Like the headlight knob that they're still promising for November 2022?
I think it's more than just hating subscriptions. I feel particularly salty about spending $60k on a car that advertises a feature with nothing mentioned about a subscription. I have to ask the right questions to shady/unreliable salesmen or locate the right online forums to learn about the...
Yeah, $100+ is a little steep but I'd pay it. I assumed a soft-sided cooler like that could be folded up for cheaper shipping? I could be totally wrong though, especially if it has good insulation.
This is great to hear! I'm really looking forward to BC 1.2.
(to be clear, there's no way I'll pay $800/yr for it but I'm looking forward to using this version for a couple years before my subscription runs out)
Just in case @AOSK is paying attention and interested...... Something like this would be really cool with an MME-specific fit: https://tesloid.com/product/model-y-frunk-cooler-food-bag/
(and thanks for the REI alternative, looks like it gets the job done)
I'm a little confused by this message. I would interpret the screenshot and your comment to mean that lane centering (which is different than lane keeping) is NOT available without subscription. And that would be a really big deal.
My city has been waiting over 2 years for the state to review/approve their proposed plan for electricity supply aggregation. It's pretty crazy and puts me in a bad mood to think about how messed up our energy supply situation is.
These threads always make me jealous. I live in New England, where I currently pay .32/kWh (delivered), and that was after switching suppliers because National Grid had increased to .48/kWh over the winter. During the time when I was paying the higher rate, it was actually more expensive to...
Most people seem to trust that we'll continue to have hands-on Bluecruise (bubble around the car image, which is ACC and lane centering) without the subscription. I'm not so confident because my trust level with Ford is pretty low at the moment, and they seem desperate to go after subscription...
I mean if it's a case of announcements getting ahead of decisions, then it would imply that this isn't really a decision yet. I guess we'll see about that. I do care about this feature, so the pricing is important to me.
I was willing to pay $200/yr if my car stayed current with BC versions (like version 1.2, to begin with). But had I known that Ford was going to be this aggressive with their subscription price increases and treat its customers like this, I don't think I would have purchased this car last year...
Ok, fair enough. At least Tesla posts this price front and center, and you can take it or leave it. Hopefully we can agree that what Ford is doing is quite different, and pretty awful.
Question about this hack: when BC suddenly loses sight of the lane markers and disengages, normally you get an urgent audible alert with a big red message telling you to take control immediately and then it disengages lane centering entirely. But if the car thinks you already have control...
