I agree with this. On some occasions, not all the time, I’ll have my phone in my hand and pressing the button on the door but it does nothing…..even I was able to open the door with one button press 5 mins prior. What I’ve found is that when the door presses aren’t opening the door, I unlock my...
No DCFCs in the Temple or Belton area, but a check of Plugshare shows a Road Ranger 150kw station with a 10 rating in Lacy-Lakeview and EA station near Bellmead that has a 10 rating. There weren’t any bad checkins on Plugshare for the past 2 weeks for both stations.
It wasn't Loves and EA. It's a joint agreement involving Loves, EvGo and GM. EvGo doesn't have much money. so they've issued more stock in the past several weeks to raise funds. I would guess the lack of funds is why the Loves/EvGo rollout has been slow.
Sure and I love my Mach, but VW was also ahead of Ford. I don't think Ford will recapture the number 2 spot bc VW has ID4s readily available to where potential customers don't have to wait and GM will continue to make the Bolt thru year-end. I'd make a bet and come back here in 6 months, but I...
Correct. I'm just concerned about Ford's software development.......it leaves a lot to be desired. But I keep going back to the short cables on V3 superchargers. I was just thinking that if I'm near a EvGo or EA station that is in working order, I'm going to one of those over the V3 SC bc I...
Musk and Farley said that they need to work on the software integration as the reason for the need to wait a year. It seems to me that this just came about recently and I think that Farley said on CNBC this morning that they've been talking about this for the last 3 months. That would explain...
I used to go to the Sam's Club gas station here in Riverview and Chasing Coral's point about queuing at Costco is the same for Sam's. The design of the DCFC stations should factor in some sort of queuing ratio, but we know that they don't. And that's the problem with the Sam's Club and Costco...
I looked on Bridgestone's website just now and they don't make the Turanza EV tires in the size that I need for my 2022 select. The Pirelli Elects are not available for my Select.
Yeah I heard the CNBC interview as well. He and Musk did say on the Twitter Spaces chat that the reason current Ford EVs will not be able to use the V3 Superchargers until 2024 is that they're working on the Ford software being able to communicate with the Telsa supercharger software. I...
Yeah I noticed the V3 Superchargers mention in the press release. The more I read about this the more I feel like I did when the magic dock was revealed. It'll be a good solution for some, but the short cable and being only V3 supercharger compatible makes me go....meh! Don't get me wrong...
Exactly. And the 2025 cars will also be forced to the new stations. This announcement is great in theory, however, in practice I'm still not sure how useful this is with the short cables.
Sure but my current car, which is a 2022 Mach E doesn't have a rear port and I plan on keeping this car longer than 5 years. So I'm still wondering how we address that elephant that has now been painted purple and standing directly in front of us.
The supercharger cable length is the elephant in the room. It does none of use any favors even with an adapter bc the daggum cable can't reach the charge port without some awkward maneuvers.
Yeah it definitely was. It was interesting to hear Elmo say something like, "Anything we can do help Jim, we'd be more than happy to do". I was thinking to myself that it sounds great, but would they reallyyyyyyy be interested any doing anything they can to help Ford.......a competitor? I...
As long as it is not at the exclusion of one type of tech. I think this move is fine as long as those 2025 Ford customers also have access to the CCS network, whether its via an adapter or some other method that Ford comes up with. You don't have to use the CCS network, but the more options...
