Have you noticed a difference in road noise with the Hankooks?

The tires have just over 3/32". I'll need to replace them soon. The wear is pretty perfectly even. I really don't do any hard acceleration. I tried it a couple of times just to feel it, but I'm no longer 20 and street racing just doesn't appeal to me like it used to. The tires have been doing...

I've certainly run into a few issues with various DC chargers across my travels, but I think people are going to be in for a hard reality check when a bunch of different vehicle types start causing all kinds of edge case crashes on a system that was designed to only have communications between...

Yeah. They're about 40 minutes each way out of the way for someone coming from the south. Definitely handy if necessary, but it would be nice to have a DCFC on 89 in Cameron or The Gap or right where 89A splits off from 89. The problem is that's tribal land and there's so little investment in...

Agreed. That's going into our spreadsheet.

I'm a fan of 1pd myself, but when my partner uses it, I do get a bit nauseated. I'm glad she's not as sensitive as I.

Technically we can get to and home from the GC North Rim: There are several L2 chargers at Cliff Dweller's along 89A, there are some RV 50A service at Jacob Lake Campground (whatever its name is--I'm too lazy to look it up right now, might be 30A service), and there's a new L2 (Tesla) at the...

If we can manage the financial machinations, it might be in a Rivian or Lightning... We'll see. Edited to add: We'll keep the Mustang...

Yeah, the heat isn't all that bad, though in the high mountains during summer it does penetrate a bit. I do like the glass when I'm able to enjoy it--really I just wish Ford had built in a motorized or even a hand-operated cover. I have a potential trip to Glacier NP sometime summer of '25...

CarPlay disconnects in the same place all the time!

We have something similar. In one particular half-block, invariably the vehicle's bluetooth/wifi Android Auto and Apple Carplay connection fails. And it doesn't matter if it's in the Tacoma or the Mustang. There's some kind of overpowering signal in that area that blocks the signal from our...

I don't ride in the back of the Mustang, though my partner has and says it's definitely more boat-like back there. I don't get sick from the suspension while in the front. The thing about a minivan that's different from a large SUV is the former drives a lot more like a car and is easier to...

We have some fantastic motorcycle roads out here, but every so often when I think about going for a ride (in the summer, it's miserable in the winter), I find I choose the car. It's wild. I've never done that before.

Adventures of our Grabber Blue Space Pony...

We just got home from our trip to Death Valley. When we plugged in at home, the odometer read 33,467. Tomorrow marks the end of year two of our ownership of the Mustang and the beginning of year three. Most of the 33,500 miles we've put on the Mustang were road trip miles, where a road trip is...

    Why below 39 degrees?

Your car measures air temperature. The air responds to energy gain or loss much more rapidly than the road. When the car is measuring an air temperature of 39 ºF (37 ºF in my Toyota), the road surface temperature may be significantly lower (or higher, but that's less worrisome) and thus there...

Took a trip to Death Valley...saw so many EVs

We walked the RV campsites yesterday. Many newer RVs of all classes are carrying 2 or 3 units now. I hadn't paid close attention to these before. I don't know how many have soft starts, but even if they all do, a 50A (40A continuous) had better be wired correctly to handle what it advertises.

Took a trip to Death Valley...saw so many EVs

I love the car, but the view is definitely more beautiful. ;)
