Battery tech progressing at a rapid pace

It feels like every day there's a new breakthrough in battery tech. Solid state batteries are on pace to radically change the EV market - and anything requiring large power sources - over the next 5-10 years. The energy density, charging speed, and longevity will be radically better in the...

starting on its own - ghost in the machine?

I noticed my mache 22 gt was running this morning and I did not remote start from the app. It seemed to kick in at the same time that I scheduled it to warm the cabin before departure, but I thought that only happened when it was plugged in. Has something changed? Or is this just a gremlin in...

lawsuit against car manufacturers for alleged violations of privacy

https://therecord.media/class-action-lawsuit-cars-text-messages-privacy Money quote "Many car manufacturers are selling car owners’ data to advertisers as a revenue boosting tactic..." Curious how much of our private data is sold by ford. Also curious if there are some reliable 3rd party...

PaaK works great! Ask me how I know (Boston to NoVa)

I had been reluctant to try PaaK because I had visions of getting stranded. So I started my quarterly road trip to NoVA and had my first stop in So CT. As I was walking back to my car I started fishing for my keys when I realized i didn't have them. I panicked and called the house asking about...

    interior odor and nausea

My daughter claims that whenever she rides in our MME (MY 22 GT) she gets nauseated. I've had it now for over a year, so this is not "new car smell". I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar? Is the material that odoriferous?

    Best Strategy on Options

Ok, so I'm about to complete year #1 in april on my 4-year options plan for a 22GT, with a 1.4% interest rate. So what's the best way to approach this? I put $20K down. Part of me wants to just let Ford take it back after 4 years. That would be the easiest thing. But part of me thinks EVs will...

This Bird Strangely Fixated on Mach-E

Like, a literal bird lol. Was walking around Cambridge Mass today and this guy was intently staring at a Mach E hooked up to a charger in a parking lot. My son thought maybe it was because the brake calipers were red. I just thought it was funny. New mascot for the Mach E? Maybe it's time...

charge fault, followed by series of alerts: electrical system drain, low lvb, alarm triggered, deep sleep

I woke up to discover there had been a charging fault - there was a constant thumping sound I couldn't locate. On a whim I checked the car and it was stone cold dead. Opened up Ford pass to discover the fault that happened around 11pm, followed a couple of hours later by a notification of an...

1 pedal driving and snow don't mix

I think many of you already know this, but I thought I'd report my experience with 1-pedal driving on snowy/icy roads so that others don't make the same mistake. Basically, I hit a slick spot as I lifted my foot off the accelerator. When the regenerative breaking kicked in, the car went into...

    chargepoint home flex weirdness

I've been charging my MMEGT with my 50A rated CPHF since I bought the car in April. Today I plugged in and noticed after a couple of hours that the chargepoint app showed an error of "charge interrupted check vehicle". But it seemed to continue to charge normally. The CP app showed increasing...

    10% discrepancy in charge logs

Greetings, I don't know if this is a real issue, but I found it odd. When I look at my chargepoint logs, I notice it reports 10 percent higher kwh used than the Mach e charge report. Is it common to see that much attenuation between point A and point B? The charging cable is 20 ft long.
