I just checked cars.com and my dealer, Victory Ford has a black MME on the lot but it has the big battery which is the only option I don't want! I'm not a road-tripper so I'm not going to pay an extra $5K for range I don't need and extra weight I don't want. It seems all the MMEs in my area have...
768 Continentals is just sad. I've said for years if Ford would make it an EV, put the suicide doors on it and price it about $175K, they would have a new legend on their hands.
On my way out the door this morning for a last minute vaccine appointment, my email dings and this shows up. I'm kind of freaking out. I wish I could go down there and walk it through the line. Especially when they put the roof on! Week of May 24. Today was a pretty big day!
That's pretty bad. Someone else pointed out it might be a windshield mis-alignment. Do you think that could be a possibility? Also, have you tweeted about this to Ford or any of their execs? They might not know about this. We assume they monitor these forums, but they might not.
I posted somewhere else that this was the exact kind of code that would fix this but I also am in disbelief that the original build did not have that routine. After all the heartache with the exact same problem with the Focus EV, you'd think somebody at Ford would have made a note. There must...
I'm thankful for these threads. When (someday) I get my Mach E I won't have a panic attack when my instrument cluster lights up like a Christmas tree. Having owned a Ford Focus EV for 7 years now, I'm no stranger to dead 12V batteries.
It depends on what kind of handshake routines take place and how the software was written. Searching for signal may not use much battery, but "dialing" over and over and over for 12 hours is a different matter. The car's system CPU would also need to wake up to attempt to process that data. I...
Surely it's not this easy, but my dealer told me my Focus EV was draining the 12V battery because the modem was getting a lousy signal (not surprising in my garage) and consequently spent the entire night continually trying to contact a cell tower. I don't know if that is fact or supposition...
Actually that's what I'm going to do. I chose my dealership because a high school buddy works there. When they get their loaner and the weather turns, he offered to let me have it for a day. I offered to spend the day at the dealership with any salesmen who want to learn how to sell a Mach E. He...
Just thinking out loud. There seems to be issues with temperature and LV battery. You "tried it a few times and it finally started." Current flows, things heat up, and finally the car starts. It might be as simple as a frozen battery not able to supply enough current to engage all the systems...
Years ago Diehard made a battery with a reserve cell. If it went dead you rotated a switch on the battery and supposedly it gave you just enough for a few cranks of the engine. Too bad they don't make those anymore. It would be a handy workaround until Ford gets this sorted.
I've had it since 2014. Ironically it had been returned to Ford under the NY lemon law because it had been taken to the dealer three times for, wait for it, a dead 12V battery! lol
Mine has died a few times, but always in my garage and always when I had left it unplugged and undriven for a few...
This is unacceptable. My 2012 Ford Focus Electric was designed better. If it's plugged in, the 12V gets a trickle charge. I know this because I occasionally have to hard reset the car by disconnecting and re-connecting the 12 battery. The other day I did this while forgetting to remove the...
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I'll just stick with my humble little 40A JuiceBox. No frills. All the charging data I can get to on MyFordMobile. I just wanted to make sure there was nothing "required" about the Ford charger. :)
Haven't read the entire thread but my 2012 Focus EV has given me plenty of fits over the years with 12V battery problems. Initially, the modem was draining it dead overnight. It was supposed to alert me via the app when the 12V battery was low, but unfortunately it died before it could text me...
Pardon my ignorance, but what's the deal with a special wall charger? I've been using an old-fashioned JuiceBox Level 2 for my Focus EV for 5 years. No wi-fi, no bluetooth, just a dumb charger. I program my Focus to "Value Charge" after midnight when the rates are lower. Does the Mach E not have...
I took the plunge last Friday and ordered a black/black AWD Premium with the standard pack. I'm curious to find out how they're doing the quality control checks here in KC. Are they pulling them off the carriers or are they checking them without offloading? As soon as I figure out which rail...
