The battery shield kit present in the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally is available to purchase now for extended range Mach-e's. Retails for $2,995
"It’s made from two pieces of 2.5mm thick aluminum and is designed to bolt right on with no drilling or modifications. The battery shield is reinforced...
Thanks for the response. This is very helpful.
Another tangential but related question, when an owner uses the Ford Pass app on their phone to remote start the climate in their Mach-e to preconditon/warm the passeger cabin, does the DC/DC converter turn on to support the 12V battery here too...
Thanks for your response.
This is perhaps categorized as a "Nerd" question. Just curious (if anyone knows) if during the perhaps hour or so of warming the big battery prior to departure time that the car would be applying current to the 12V.
I am aware that when the car is ON, and when the car...
Don't those good lease deals tend to always have a downpayment that suddenly clarifies why they make a profit on it.
If it's $585 with no down, that is spectacular.
And it is likely that Lucid will still be in business in the short term, so only a little risk. I guess I'd be curious where to...
Good point. If you can drop more than $80-100k on a vehicle (which is the cost of a small house where I live) you can look at other vendors: BMW, Porsche, Audi and Mercedes too.
Roger that. So you are talking about comparing the Mach-E to Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Kia EV6 as well as GM models like Equinox, Lyriq, Blazer. OK. So it's the 800V architecture and SuperCruise you are talking about. Sounds good.
I am aware that EV pundits (e.g Kyle) do not like it, since they are comparing it to the best current EVs and using EV metrics, BUT I would enjoy test-driving one, gotta say. I like the look of it. Can just turn off the Borla exhaust noise. That's why I thought this review felt closer to useful...
Right. If we think about EVs (cars/crossovers in a similar $ range) in the US market comparable to the Mach-e, what do we have:
1. Tesla 3 & Y
2. VW ID.4
3. Polestar 2
4. Hyundai IONIQ 5
5. Kia EV6
6. GM Equinox, Blazer, Lyriq
7. Dodge Charger EV?
If you ignore the $ range, Lucid too, if...
I believe Mach-Lee explained some of this in his review of the 2024 models about 5? Months ago here on macheforum. Perhaps search for him and 2024 Mach-e?
So, I seem to recall in the past year(?) a 3rd party vendor who was marketing an underbelly insulation add-on for the Mach-e. To increase insulation of battery. Anyone else remember this?
