Level 2 EV charging utilizes a 208-volt to 240-volt AC outlet in North America and a 230-volt (single-phase) or 400-volt (three-phase) outlet in Europe. In North...
Yeah. If they want it to be safe to use in the deserts of the US in summer and not just in Canada, I think they're going to see a larger throughput drop. The temperature of nonmetallic couplings that are handled are supposed to stay below 60 ⁰C, but the summer air in Needles, CA will be nearly...
I've programmed my Lightning to charge during super-off-peak. It's about $5 to fill the truck from 0% to 100%. I keep meaning to adjust the Mustang's charge time for winter, but my partner drives and I keep forgetting to go in and update the times.
I have a door ding and have had it for more than a year. I've watched for paint cracking/chipping and it hasn't happened. It's not worth the money to pay someone to fix it and I don't have the skills to do it myself, so it's just going to stay. If you don't know how to fix it without possibly...
You do not want a dumb extension. You want one that's smart enough to throttle the amperage so the cable doesn't melt.
The A2ZEV extension is still under development. If they can accomplish what needs to be accomplished, it will probably only pass 50-60 kW or so.
An extension would likely be...
Our OEM Primacy tires have 44,000 miles on them and are in great condition. I haven't checked their current tread depth, but they're certainly good enough to keep running for at least through to the 50,000 miles checkup.
In an interview about the forced recall they just experienced, the CEO discussed the extension and made note that it would not be possible for the extension to provide full power, which makes total sense. My guess is that they may be able to make an extension that can offer something like 40-50...
False.
You'll need an adapter. If you want to charge at a level 2 EVSE with a brand-T plug, you'll need one kind of adapter. You'll need a second kind to charge at a supercharger.
I would shop at A2ZEV and get their package with both the L2 and DCFC (called Typhoon) adapters.
I didn't notice...
I would have moved on as soon as I realized there was a line. In my ~30-40k miles of road tripping, I have only run into lines a few times and only once did I "need" the charger with the line.
There are range extender hybrids in which the ICE provides electrical power to the system while driving. This results in slowing the rate of discharge of the battery. Those hybrids are designed with that application in mind. The Mustang is not designed for this. As already mentioned, the Mustang...
I recently removed ours. Our BlueCruise was faulting whenever we hit a bump. Removing the fitcamx and relaxing some of the strain on the oem camera cable fixed it. I'm not certain the fitcamx was part of the problem, but we rarely used it anyway.
I see we've got some catching up to do!
We've been considering a drive up to Acadia with some stitching back and forth between the US and Canada. Might be time to do that. :)
I'm just going to leave my 33 months, 10 states, 50,000+ miles map here.
Driven in a '22 Mustang and '23 Lightning. We're still happily road tripping every couple of weeks. We mostly take the Lightning rather than in the Mustang, but we'll still take the Mustang on a shorter road trip (500...
Been pretty busy just driving and working, so haven't updated in a while.
This is the current map made from memory, not from a GPS tracker, so I'm sure I'm missing a few shorter trips.
We have a 2022 Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 AWD (picked up in Feb 2022), ER and a 2023 Lightning Lariat...
This is exactly my experience too. And brand-T aren't really all that great when they're busy--we can't use them when they're 50% full because of the odd way brand-T drivers park every-other-space.
